How do you put HTML at the top of your blog
Dear All,

I need to put some HTML at the top of my blog below the opening paragraph summarizing the mission of the blog. Right below the orange band.

What html do you need and WHERE do you put it in? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

1. Did you try the following
test

or

<font color=red>test</font>

In general the trick is to use [ instead of < just like
here

2. No I didn't
I have some HTML that's been put together for a button but I don't know how to put it under the pinkish color band with the brown letters. I want it right in the center on the white part but don't know what html to put in the template and how to insert the html that I have that needs to go in.

4. I think you need this stuff
A table and put the message and button in the table. Tables
are tricky though..

<div align=right><table align=right width=xxx
height=yyy><tr><td>
Your message or <img src=whatever.jpg>
</td></tr></table></div>

Make sure that you close every <abab> with a matching
</abab> because if you don't, you'll screw up the entire
page

3. Do you have access to the source code?
Few or perhaps no blogs are straight html; the pages are generated by some program, written in php for example, that reads the blog entries from a database, often mysql, and builds each page accordingly. So, to add anything at all, you have to have access to the program's source code.

If you have access to that, you can find where it generates the orange do-wop and insert whatever new lines you need after that. If you don't have access--if your blog is hosted by some free service--then there's probably no way for you to add anything because people generally are allergic to having strangers monkeying around with the code that keeps their site running.

Hope that helps.

5. I don't have access to the source code
I hear what you're saying. I have to find a way to put some html in the template so that the button is at the top.

11. Chicago is OK
We need to get rid of Blagojevich and Mayor Daley...they're killing us. They don't help improve the place AT ALL. I live north of the city so it's better up here.
