The wheels of history grind slowly. |

That is a lesson many in power do not learn ,and if at all they do, it comes too late for them to undo the damage.Napoleon, Hitler,Lyndon Johnson, Nixon were undone by the power that went to their heads. There is no reason to expect that the outcome for Bush and his entire cast of believers will be any different.
For one thing, despite the superiority in weapons and technology, Bush's forces are vastly outnumbered by the Arabs.I say Arabs because Bush's war on Iraq is seen by the Arab world quite differently than the way it is portrayed in our ignorant press. They know, after seeing the tortures and the disrespect shown to their holiest books and of course, the racist epithets hurled at them, they are in a Clash of Civilizations as Samuel Huntington has called it.Since it has been transformed from an Iraq specific war to a war that encompasses the entire Muslim Middle East, one can expect nothing less than a war lasting through the entire twenty first century. This means that the current administration that blindly plunged us into a never ending war will not be here to reap the consequences. It will be the legacy they leave behind for our children and grandchildren.
Such a long war also means something else.In that time span, the ones who have been victimized will carry the wounds of their humiliations sparking the rise of leaders who will have a highly motivated populace to draw from.As technology advances and comes within the reach of these new geneartions of leaders, one can expect a war without mercy unless sensible leaders emerge on our side to forestall such an event.Given our belief in technology and our belief in violent solutions I think that possibility is remote.
A long war lasting through the entire century also carries within it the seeds of our own humiliation as the Vietnam experience clearly has shown. Our attention span is short. We tire of anything that lasts more than thirty three nano seconds. A futile war in which the aims look nebulous is going to receive less and less support.Combined with the drain of resources and looming bankruptcy may well end the ambitious war agenda.
That is the outcome one hopes for.Because we have lost the ability to base our policy decisions on reason.

It is customary to say that throughout history there have been eight Crusades against the "infidels" in the "Holy Lands."
Chimperor Bush, THE UNANNOINTED ONE, now heads the Ninth, "Ultimate Prime-Time High-Tech Crusade." People in the Arab nations are often acutely aware of this "series of extremely unfortunate occurences" throughout the centuries, and of the Crusades' cancer-like resurgence in Our Very Own Epoch of History
Bush is arguably the hereditary chief (lots of inbreeding) of the Skull & Boner Knights Templar Sex, Torture and Death Cult Behind All This Shit.
Against these fear-driven Forces and Powers, a One-Heart Nation grows deepens strengthens simplifies prepares for an unlikely fusion (aren't they all unlikely, when you come right down to it?).
