I'm impressed -- que bueno. Now I'm literate in two languages. -- Dubya taking time out of his busy schedule to belittle NBC News White House correspondent David Gregory, and employing his Spanish "prowess" to do so, press conference with French President Jacques Chirac, Paris, France, May 26, 2002

I like these from Dimson too...

27. I hate it when people do that.
I don't mind taking my chances on being taken by really good spoofery. The problem is that this crowd is so clownish that a story like this is immediately credible. You can't satirize people like this in such a way as to make it clar that you're doing satire. Besides, they DID say something almost like this the other day, so this sounded like an amplification of that statement.

I jumped all over somebody else's shit for a nearly identical offense a couple of weeks ago. It was somebody I very much lke and respect, too. So please put this stuff in the lounge or something.

30. Yeah, THAT'S RIGHT
The British officials who gave their reports could NEVER have understood CHIMPSEAK, the official language of the Bush Administration...

It's so coded that no one can break the code, and the speakers sound like they are talking complete gibberish. It's like the Windtalkers, you know.

Bush has on occasion, slipped up, and let a code word out, like the recent example, disassemble, encoded word for the verb to lie.

51. Freep talking Point here: (Please refute)

"The memo states that George Bush "was determined" to attack Iraq long before going to Congress with the matter, and that "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."
Even if true, I fail to see what the problem is.

The Commander in Chief would be derelict in duty if he did not think ahead and start planning tactics long before you go to Congress with firm and final plans."

52. Well in the first fucking place
you aren't supposed to "fix" facts.
Facts are supposed to present themselves for finding; you then accumulate them and then weigh them to see what kind of policy they support. You can determine a policy and marshall facts to support it selecting only what helps your position, but under no circumstances is it OK to "FIX" facts and fabricate intelligence to support a predetermined policy. When that policy is a decision to start a war against a sovereign nation then the "fixing of facts" and intelligence to support this policy is a conspiracy to commit an international warcrime, which is an impeachable offense.

If you fail to see the problem with this practice of conspiring to start a war on false justifications you are a Fascist.

1. If Bush's reason's for war against Iraq, he should have presented them and would not have NEEDED to falsify Intel.
2. He lied to Congress, in order to get them to sanction a war they would not have if they knew the truth.
