Clinton said it was alright to invade Iraq and to lie about the reasons |
|
According to the latest Limbaugh and Bushbots rationale. Clinton's policy was to have a "regime change" in Iraq, so therefore, any birdbrain can extrapolate that he wanted to invade Iraq and lie to the American people and the world about the reasons. So George Bush was only following Clinton's orders? Go figure..

Does Rush not listen to Clinton? He was just criticizing Bush for the way he started this war.

2. but, I thought only bad things were Clinton's fault? |
|
So, is Rush now flip-flopping on Iraq?
Bringing about regime change through supplying the Kurds, ensuring Saddam has no WMD, using the UN, etc is a lot different than a full scale invasion.

3. Clinton, in 1998, was saying lots of things * is now. The differences are |
|
1. Clinton didn't actually DO it. He knew better, as did Poppy in 1991. 2. He's "bi-partisan" (aka bend-overer for the rethugs, so he was likely speaking their memes in 1998.) 3. Recent events have suggested how he really wants to be chummy with the * klan, despite them hating his guts in the first place. (that or he's incredibly good natured, but how far can one 'turn the other cheek', especially with what the Klan has done to him in the past.)
In any case, it's all a game to politicians. We're just pawns.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a foreign government to change. It's what you do about it that matters. I'd like regime change in North Korea, but I wouldn't invade the place.

Rush Limbaugh is mentally ill but shrewd. I can't stand to hear his voice.
I remember when he had his short lived television show. When they panned into the audience there were a few women wearing fur coats. The were obvious plants because the other members of the audience did not even have coats on.

I still think he's a true Democrat, but I WILL NEVER be a Hillary backer. I most definetly DO NOT want her to run. And if she keeps getting pushed on us, I'm going to keep fighting it.
EVEN IF IT'S TOO EARLY! It's called nipping it in the bud!

14. Challenge to Rush: put up or shut up |
|
Mr. Limbaugh, if you are reading this (and you have been known to read DU in the past, so I assume you are):
Please provide a complete quote of anything Mr. Clinton has said that could be taken to mean that it was right to invade Iraq and lie about the reasons. Any such documentation must provide the full context of Mr. Clinton's remarks and a reference to where this context may be found.
While Mr. Clinton has said that it was right to invade Iraq (and I obviously have a difference of opinion with him on this matter) and while Mr. Clinton has been known to deviate from the facts on other matters (much to my disappointment), I have yet to read or hear anything Mr. Clinton has said that could be construed as approving of lying to the American people, the United Nations Security Council or General Assembly or the people of world in general about reasons for going to war in Iraq.
I would add, Mr. Limbaugh, that if your defense of Mr. Bush's willful dissembling and outright lying in the run up to the war is reduced to resorting to this kind of red herring, that your argument -- and any argument against removing the Bush regime from power for war crimes or crimes against humanity arising out of the invasion of Iraq or the treatment of terror suspects in US custody -- is on very shaky ground. That much is true regardless of whether or not you can demonstrate that Mr. Clinton really said what you claim that he said.

Otherwise, I would expect Rush to do no more than extrapolate. Do you think I'd trust that cheap propagandist to argue honestly?

this DSM becomes a big story...just like the excuses for the war itself in the beginning...but then again, maybe this is just a continuation of the WMDs, nuclear materials, aluminum tubes, unmanned aircrafts, tons of biological weapons, etc? and now, Bill Clinton said it was OK?
