Did anyone just see that freaky Starburst commercial?
A kid sculpts a bust of the object of his desire out of Starburst candies. He shows it to her and tells her why he used lemon for her hair and cherry for her lips. Then, he goes nuts and starts devouring the nose, making noises like he's having sex with it.

This should go over with the Dobsonites about as well as a lead safe dropped from the giant concrete praying hands at Oral Roberts University.

1. Yes, I have seen it before
It is a take-off of that Lionel Ritchie video. Hilarious!

2. For what reason would the 'christian' Right go after it?
Would they be mad because of the boy's lust?

OR

Would they be mad because it would seem as though the boy has an IDOL?

6. The former, I think.
He gets pretty hot and heavy on the Starburst nose.

4.  I thought it was quite bizarre
The commercial didn't make me want to eat a Starburst, which I assume is the idea behind spending 100's of thousands of dollars to make the commercial in the first place.

5. Well, I don't disagree but then I'm usually turned off by...
...slurping and drooling noises.

7. A word about those praying hands......
When they were originally built, the hands were splayed wide open. Then someone came along and threw in a dime, and they have been clamped shut ever since.
