Karl Rove screwed the pooch in making an enemy of Wesley Clark
My guess is that that little republican dweeb Karl Rove is going to turn out to be President Bush's downfall. Had Rove been smart (Which everyone agrees he is not) He would have accepted Wesley Clarks offer to join his team after 9/11. According to Newsweek, Rove blocked Clark from helping Bush, thus setting up a rivalry between the two. This rivalry of course will wind up coming back to Kick Bush in the ass in 2004. Wesley Clark is a TRUE patriot who served his country in Vietnam while Bush hid under his bunk in cowardice at the nice safe Air National Guard base in Texas. Republican morons like the fossilized Bob Novak or the drunken slut Ann Coulter, will no doubt try and make up lies about Clark, but it will only backfire into proving how truly scared the GOP is of a bad-ass soldier like Clark.Next Year Bush and his sissy butt boy Karl Rove will be out on the street begging for a job.

1. I guess I am not everyone... are you serious?
Rove is completely consumed by politics. He eats, sleeps, and probably j**ks off about politics. He is smart.

5. Rove's smart but not infallible
What looked like a great idea, shrub on carrier, seems to have backfired...badly. Shrub boy is more often butt of jokes now over his flight suit. I think that effectly ends the photo-op for his re-selection campaign. :kick:

8. Rove can also be pretty damned stupid in a fundamental way.
Otherwise, he would not have hitched up with such a loser.

Plus, his power point presentation was strictly shit.

11. But his delusions of grandeur and infallibility . . . .
plus his admitted lack of sleep, lead me to suspect there's amphetamines in that boy's medicine chest.

2. Maybe Rove saw something Wes didn't...
Clark would have been a member of Bush's team if he'd a been welcomed?
That would have been an interesting credential for a democratic candidate.

Maybe Rove saw something Clark couldn't name until recently...Clark's a democrat..

Personally I expect that Clark is a bigger person than to run as a personal vendetta.

Regarding TRUE patriots...there were a lot of them that NEVER wore a uniform. Being a true patriot means believing and remaining loyal to the constitution and the vision of the founders.

12. or that he had nothing to offer with Chairman of Joint Chiefs on board
Pray tell what Clark has on Powell ? Oh and wouldn't Powell have a pretty good idea of Clark's worth ?

So Wes goes to Plan B.

3. I think Clark's statement about joining forces with Bush Co.
was somewhat tongue in cheek - probably designed to tweek Karl.

14. The "becoming a republican" part was. I think the offer was real.
Lots of people were trying to help after the terrorist attacks. I think guys like Clark would have been real stars in the war on terrorism (when it used to really be a war against terrorists).

Then again, Clark, unlike Powell, has too much class to put on a Saturday Night Live skit for his "Adlai moment".

4. This is more suitable for General Discussion
Also, you may want to edit to remove the word 'slut' from your post. We had a go around about the use of that word not long ago.

9. Just a friendly warning
I saw a thread get locked for that earlier and a lot of people get pissed off. It said DU considered the use of the word 'slut' as sexist. If I were policing you I would have alerted the mods.

10. Unfortunately
if it wasn't for Monica Lewinsky we would have never heard of Karl Rove...

As someone who has done post grad work in Poltical Science I fail to be blown away by his wisdom...

He's a decent conventional thinker, nothing more, nothing less...

13. If it hadnt been monica
it would have been something/someone else. they (rove/pnac) were and are multi-year commited with un-swerving deliberateness, and were leaving no rock unturned all the way back to Clintons kindergarten years if necessary:)

18. Rove is choosing our candidate for us
If we choose who he hates/fears most, we choose who Rove chooses. And who is to say he's not feigning, knowing that we will go with his most feared opponent?

This is like reading the boxing opponent's eyes - a good boxer will look right and punch left, look up and punch low.

We must be careful.
