Eliot Spitzer is my hero. |
|
Look at what he has accomplished in the past few years. He has exposed the misdeeds of many corporate bigwigs who were used to having their own way with our legal system while small time lawbreakers had to contend with the heavy arm of the law. Spitzer has made it clear that your money and power will not spare you from the long arm of the law if you break it. In that very act, he has restored the faith of the common man in Democracy.
His recent exposure of employment practices that take race into consideration is another blow against lawbreakers.Along with his prosecution of stock manipulators, this must rank as another achievement that puts Spitzer among the few that have any credibility.Watch for anti-Spitzer tirades to come out of the pens of the shills.

1. I moved from NY to FL two years ago... |
|
and one of the things that I noticed is that I rarely receive fulfillment of consumer rebates on things I buy since moving here.
I never gave it much thought, until I started to keep records a little closer. I was waiting and waiting for two $50 rebates on a couple iRiver mp3 players I bought last year. After a couple months I inquired, and after finally reaching someone (in Bangalore I think) I got a letter saying I never enlosed the require UPC labels. I did. And I copied everything I sent.
In NY, if this ever happened, a quick call to the AG's office would take care of it. (Though I think they feared it getting to that point).
A call to the FL AG's office was met with a seried of telephone recordings, only to be told that I should have sent it certified mail.
???
They got the envelope, except they were flat out calling me a liar.
This is not the only rebate that never failed to appear...and as I said, this was never a problem in NY.

I can't think of any politician I have as much respect for as I do for him. He makes me wish I lived in NY!
