Stop calling them the "media" and just call them what they really are

The Paparazzi.
They don't actually report anything--just seeking to entertain.
Why not reserve the term "media" or "journalists" for those deserving of such titles?
Make a list of who is considered worthy of being a journalist.
Send the list out.

Who would be media on your list and who would be paparazzi?

Media means, I think, just the form? News media might work - news media vs. paparazzi media? That might work. Media as a term sucks because it means different things in different contexts.

12. They Are Not Entertaining Either

I am certain that if even a few of the Boosh** regime's crimes got
Watergate-style coverage in the media, that millions of Americans
as well as others around the world would find that HIGHLY ENTERTAINING!

We would be glued to our sets!

But they do not do that.

The stuff they are producing is not entertaining at all. Ratings are
dropping across the board, yet they don't do anything about it.

They are not producing entertainment, they are producing propaganda.
This is not about the profitability of their news division, it is
about power for the people who control the parent corporation.

I respect including the director of the Minnesota News Council agreed that "mainstream" TV news is hopeless, beyond repair.

What's more, they are contributing to their own demise. Just check their falling viewership and ratings.

Focus instead on improving coverage in newspapers, magazines and radio and supporting alternative Internet and radio AND cable and new broadcast programs such as Democracy Now! and the organizations that host them on cable and satellite.
