Fox News - 'We club lefties to death'
I am copying this article direct from page 7 of the media section of th print edition of the London Guardian (UK). FOr those that don't know the Guardian is a left leaning daily UK wide broadsheet of some repute. I couldn't find the article online which is why i am reproducing it in full here: (the section is called "Media monkey's diary")

********************************************************

'Fox News is famously sensitive if anyone accuses the Murdoch owned channel od being anything less than "Fair and Balanced". So imagine monkey's suprise, then to read these comments by its London bureau chief Scott Norvell in a piece attacking the so called 'Leftism' of the BBC

"Even we at Fox news manage to get some lefties on the air occasionally and often let them finish their sentances before we club them to death."

he says in the Wall street journal.

"Foz news is, after all, a private channel and our presenters are quite open on where they stand on particular stories. That's our appeal.....The BBC's institutionalised leftism would be easier to tolerate if the coperation were more honest about it"

Ah, so it's ok to be biased as long as ou say so. But where does 'fair and balanced' come into it?

******************************************************

Perhaps we can use this next time some wingnut starts bleating about the Liburul Meedya. Idiots.

4. no matter how hard they try
they sound kind of shrill, hollow, bombastic, and most of all really really really insecure.

Hey Fox, they have anti-psychotic medicine for your condition that works just fine after they get you "adjusted".

About the only thing you're capable of "clubbing to death" is your little weeners while doing porn "research" for the AFA.

7. I Think This Meme Is Taught In Schools...
...like the one Gluckert/Gannon went to run by Blackwell and taught by "reporters for Bob Novak". It's a blanket justification for these right wing hacks to lie and manipulate stories and is the "balance" Faux claims its bringing to "journalism".

Ever since Watergate, the right wing has beat the concept of "liberal media" to death. For years I could deflect that comment by citing the number of owners like Murdoch (and the ones I worked for) who were far from liberal. That ended with hate radio and corporate media.

America's "deregulation" of media removed a lot of independent voices and checks and balances on what is seen and heard. The Repugnicans have exploited this with a massive propaganda operation that operates openly and freely within this corporate media and has coward anyone who dares to cross them with the loss of career and lifestyle.

Whenever someone criticizes a Faux, be assured the "liberal media" crap will be rolled out. You rarely hear examples...just names..."Rather, Michael Moore, CBS..." and it's been effective. A major reason for this is the lack of a liberal media and voices to fight back. It's going to be a long road to destroy this meme, if ever.

Cheers!
