Maybe they have decided to show real news part of the day now.

It certainly looks like a good thing.

I knew they were going to do this. Wolf mentioned it during his interview with Ted Turner.

edit to add - we will have to watch but this is certainly something to be encouraged.

1. I really hate that they removed CNN International from my cable lineup.

They should bring it back. (Time Warner)

2. I watch CNN International in the UK.
We still get "proper" news from CNN, thanks to CNN International, which is why I was so surprised when I gradually realized on visits back to the States that the same thing was no longer true about the home-grown version of CNN.

When did CNN start to go downhill? Was it before or after Ted Turner got out of it? Did it happen fairly quickly, or was it a gradual thing?

Speaking of Wolf, I got so pissed off at him about something or other 3 or 4 months ago (can't remember what in particular, there's so much to choose from) that I went online and sent him an e-mail calling him a whore. He didn't get back to me on that.

3. CNN International is professionally done news.
Is this just American "cnn" filler until they decide MJ has a health issue they have to cover 24/7?

Bears watching to see if this international news is temporary or a commitment to becoming news that is fit for people who think.

4. I believe this is part of their new programing, along with canceling
Crossfire.

Maybe if they get good ratings for the time periods when they show CNN International they will increase the amount of time because right now their ratings have been tanking.

It isn't on all the time. It was the standard fare this morning (I didn't watch but I do flip by - who can actually watch Daryn Kagan anymore? It is physically impossible for me).

5. Thank God.
This is approximately 800x better than their normal programming, which is basically worthless bullshit.

If they stay with this, it'll be the best thing Jon Klein has done since he took over.

6. Wow - real news, no Kyra Phillips
Notice how the international anchors act like real news people. The ambassador to Sudan was just on, and they didn't ask what his favorite color was.

10. Real news for 1 hour. Now back to Kyra, Missing in Aruba and the MJ
trial.

It was nice for one hour. The stories were on the Sudan, Iraq, living with Apartheid, etc.
