"BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Former dictator Saddam Hussein will stand trial for a range of charges - from gassing thousands of Kurds to executing political and religious leaders and draining ancient marshlands, according to a list obtained Monday from the special tribunal.

Iraqi officials want the case against Saddam, who could face 500 charges, to concentrate on 14 thoroughly documented cases for which authorities believe they can get convictions.

Many of the allegations on the list obtained by The Associated Press from the special tribunal, which will hear the case against Saddam and 11 other members of his ousted regime, received international attention during Saddam's three decades in power.

The list contained few details, but among the crimes the tribunal says Saddam was responsible for were: "

2. Nobody is saying that. I have said all along that the Saddam trial
will bring out neocon history in the way it had not been until George Galloway bravely said the words.

This is great news. The truth will come out. Notice how Repukes were Saddam allies while the first few war crimes were going on.

10. I think it all depends
on the question's he's asked and all that and who it is trialing him and if they have any connection (or are gotten to by) a neocon.

11. But as someone pointed out the neocons will have many bedfellows.

Every permanent member of the security council had some dealings with the freak. And many of them after he committed war crimes.

Perhaps a 'learning experience' for the whole security council itself. For sure it will show that neocons have a past and a past where grave mistakes were made. They keep pretending to be as innocent smelling as babies breath.

It will be interesting for sure!!For sure it will be heart-wrenching (the testimony itself).

4. Not funny. The horry and terrifying logic of the monster that he sues
people for showing him in his underwear. Shows you the logic of such freaks.

of the UN security council aided and abetted his atrocities.

Before they hang him, of course.

6. Yup. I often thought that the reason the US & Britain were so gung
ho on Iraq was that they had files to erase.

If we are lucky there will be brave souls with some credibility who will tell the whole story.

7. And the French, Chinese, and Russians didn't want him to get
questioned because they were fully in bed with him--they provided him with much more support than even Ronnie Raygun did.

Complicity in his regime extends worldwide.
