UP.....R ........ DOWN VOTE.
Edited on Mon Jun-06-05 01:38 PM by doublethink
3,642 times stated by Frist in his 10 minute opening statement on the Senate floor just a moment ago. Wonder if his wife slaps him out of it as he repeats this in his sleep at night? He needs to seek medical attention on this. Thank God for the mute button on the t.v. control, Seriously. :freak:

edited: to get thoughts on post #6 bellow, we need to come up with a phrase, word, something catchy, yet TRUE, to start repeating over and over again to counter this stupid statement for what it really is. Any thoughts. See post #6. Peace. :)

Over 60 of them never got a vote

5. This only applies if
they would have been confirmed by the up or down vote.

Wait, that doesn't work.

This only applies if the president and the congress are both of the same party (like now).

Damn, i forgot about 91-92.

Well this is a special situation. It's unprecedented! Apparently!

6. Yea and it's only Monday .....
Better get you 'Up....R....Down' vote Helmet on for the rest of the week, I hate that sentence or word or phrase ... we need to come up with a counter phrase and get it out there. Any suggestions? I mean like they tried to re-phrase the Nuclear Option into Constitutional Option. We need to stop this freaking UpRDownVote phrase. Thoughts? Peace :)

10. I like that .......
now if we can just get our Reps, Senators, etc.. etc.. to start repeating it and drop the UpRDownVote mantra ..... anyway thanks for the response. I bet this thread will die because of the headline UpRDownVote. It even makes me not want to click on it again and I created it !! Haaaa ..... Peace. :)

9. Up or down vote
eliminates the screening process referred to in the Constitution as "Advice." There would no longer be anybody throwing out wacko nominations. The White House could nominate a monkey followed by a groundhog followed by a big ol' carp and they would all get an up or down "Consent" vote on the Senate floor!
