We might do well not to overlook efforts for re-taking the Congress |

There is a certain allure to seeing our pick take the Presidential oath of office, but in the race to accomplish that we need to remind ourselves that as long as the right-wing controls congress this nation is still in trouble. Unless we bring about a Democratic Congress we will still have Tom DeLay and his minions to contend with and that means a weakened Democratic Presidency.
We need to be working for the parties congressional candidates so that we can drive the right-wing traitors out of the halls of congress. The term "Traitors" is used correctly and it is not over-the-top rhetoric. The right-wing is determined to do away with the current political system, through lies, covert and overt extra-legal means it matters little to them, just so long as this country is re-made in the image they deem acceptable.

1. I am fortunate to live in a district with a safe progressive rep. |

But she will be out-shouted if there are not more of her kind in Congress. If getting a Democratic majority in Congress means fighting hard and fighting dirty -- if necessary -- then we need to do it.

Luckily for me, my congressman and two senators are already all Democrats, I will be sending money to some Texas congressman or something, haven't yet decided.
