Question about California Recall Law
If the recall against Gray Davis fails, are proponents allowed to gather signatures for another recall election?

If it were up to me you'd only be allowed to do one recall, per governor, per term.

1. I'm glad you started this thread!
Sorry, too much Will; then again, maybe there's never too much Will...oops, sorry to go all philosophical about it. Never mind.

Anyway (people: it's not "anyways"), recalls here/recalls there/recalls everywhere and they won't fucking stop in the golden State unless we pass an initiative to limit recalling. Now, that's funny because someone can immediately, even on the same ballot, pass an initiative which cancels out another initiative. Then, they will appeal it to the 9th Circuit Court which will definitely not interfere with the will of the people (LOL). Ah, Triumph of the Will. Damn, back to Will again. Oops, sorry. (Note to self: get over Will.)

Seriously, in CA we have the power to vote in and vote out, recall out and recall nullify, pass initiative, kill initiative etc., etc. That's why we explain how we got everything else. It's all a balance you see. We have a crazy state government and, yet, we have the Pacific Ocean, Lake Tahoe, Big Sur, Yosemite, The Golden Gate Bridge, Berkeley, San Francisco, and things called freeways so we can avoid the rest of it. Sorry, gotta run. I think I'll log back on in Tahoe...c u ltr!

:pals: :hi:

2. We can do another one right away...
and this time, the number of signatures required to be gathered will be even lower, because it's a percentage of the voter turnout in the last election that chose a Governor. So if, say, Arnie wins in a low turnout election, we can get another recall going. I intend to work toward one if he wins.

3. If anyone other than Davis prevails another recall will take place
the infrastructure is already there.
