As long as that sacrifice, pain and suffering is borne by others.

1. You are right about that.
I think they are about to implode. I hope it's not wishful thinking but signs are pointing to it.

Once we get rid of them and put them on trial, we certainly have to think about how we are going to make reparations to the people they have brutalized.

Putting them on trial and putting them away would be a start. Letting them off like Ford did after the Nixon dethroning only let them fade into the woodwork, regroup and come back stronger and meaner. Also, it would signal to the people in the world that they have brutalized that we mean business.

Confiscating the neo-con's fortunes that can be traced to pay for the rebuilding of places like Afghanistan and Iraq under UN supervision would be in order too.

I really worry that we will walk away without so much as an "I'm sorry for what they did" would be heinous in my mind.
