Do you get the feeling if we can't get election reform by 2006 |
|
that all will be lost?
I do. I think that is the benchmark.

matter of fact, i recently received a survey from "friends of hillary 2006" committee and i filled it out tonight (without a donation).
there was a list of the most important issues and you were supposed to rate their importance. but the issue i perceive as most important was not on the list. so i wrote it next to the list and said:
"1. election reform. if we don't have paper ballots then the votes won't count. after that, nothing else will count either. 2. Downing Street Memo/Minutes"

2. Work in your state at the roots level. |

5-6 states now have adopted newer, more transparent voting processes. That's never nearly enough. Go for all 50 states, and keep the pressure in the courts is what Nashville has reminded us.

Find out who your local groups are. Check www.votersunite.org for a local election reform group. Find out what the status of current voting legislation is and what they are doing about it.
