Homeownership is at an all time high. This is a BS statistic! |
|
EVERY year homeownership is at an all time high. Have you ever heard of a year when new home construction and ownership ever went into the negative?
Homeownership actually going down would mean foreclosures outpaced home construction. This is ridiculous.
So when someone uses the "homeownership is at an all time high" argument, call them on it.

1. I don't get your point |

Are foreclosures occurring at a higher rate than new construction? As you say, that is the only way a "negative" home ownership statistic would make sense. Is that happening? I know the MSM isn't likely to push news like that, but do statistics exist supporting that possibility?

3. the point is the "affordability of housing" as a % of pay is out of |

control.
The American Dream can no longer afford one spouse working and raising a family and a mortgage.
Simply put...wages are not anywhere near inflation.
