Poll question: Who did YOU think "Deep Throat" Was?
I had never even heard of Felt.

Here are some names, credible or not, that I've heard discussed over the years! Feel free to add another

Some of these names are HIGHLY unlikely (as it turns out, totally unlikely), but they are names I've heard mentioned.

5. I wasn't that specific
I was hoping for Poppy Bush for the propaganda fun but was resigned to the fact that it was somebody most of us never heard of.

2. John Dean.
He was the obvious choice. Appointed right into the middle of an administration that was boiling over, and he squealed to the special prosecutor the minute Nixon tried to lean on him -- so he obviously had little loyalty to Nixon or the GOP. He seemed the obvious choice.

7. I Thought it Would be "None of the Above"
a lot of people focus on the best-known names. I figured an obscure person would be more likely.

9. I wanted it to be Pat Buchannan
I know it makes no sense. It's just sometimes when he smiles and jokes on the Mclaughlin Group, he seems almost human.

10. Couldn't help leaning toward conniving *
He wanted Kennedy gone, and Reagan. I don't see why he would not have tried to remove tricky Dick. Now his boys, * and f*ckin cheney are in and the cover-up can go on forever. Have fun in H*ll pops!

12. Never Really Cared
As long as Nixon was gone, I couldn't care less who blew the whistle.

The fact he remained annonymous for so long was somewhat comforting as it meant that others could step forward if another President abused power. Well...

I'm also glad it's someone I really have never heard about...and I thought I had heard every Watergate name in the book from 1972-now.
