Speaking of PETA...

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, member Chris Link of Norfolk, Va., top, adjusts the cellophane covering on the costume of demonstrator Dezeray Rubinchik of Philadelphia, top right, during a protest in front of the Statehouse, in Providence, R.I., Monday, June 6, 2005. The protest, in which three people placed themselves in containers resembling supermarket meat trays, was meant to compare eating meat with cannibalism. 17. Human Meat is the Best
As far as absorbing nutrients from meat, you get more the closer the animal is to the eater. Therefore the healthiest, best meat a person can eat is rare or raw human flesh.

Yummy!

2. I'm a vegetarian and agree with most of PETA's issues,
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 10:05 AM by RebelOne
but I think they have gone a little too far this time.

3. Yea. They do that sometimes...
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 10:07 AM by Triana
...then there's the Covance monkey thing, where I'm totally behind them in exposing the abuse of those monkeys.

They probably believe they have to be outrageous, loud, and sensational to get attention because being meek and quiet and following the rules and the status quo doesn't effect much change. I'm not saying that's my belief, but it might be theirs. I can see that side of it, if that's the case. Well-behaved activists rarely make history - and they may have a much harder time effecting change.

What is wrong with dressing up to illustrate a point?

13. Thought that too.
It's not like they're throwing paint at people or showing offensive material to children.

Unless you consider nekkid blokes offensive.

15. I think they already went too far...
when they funneled money to ecoterroristts like ALF and ELF. Screw PETA. Now gimme a steak.

On the other hand, I'm against all animal testing except in medical cases.

But on my third hand, I really, really like my leather coat.

19. Yawn.
I see someone's been reading the Bush Dictionary again when it comes to defining "terrorism."

I'm not sure why you bother to post anti-PETA crap, though, since your post made clear that you're against cruelty unless its inconvenient to you.

21. Yes, yes...
anyone who disagrees with you certainly supports the War Criminal in Chief. Love people who have no room for any views other than their own.

As for ALF and ELF, given that they blow things up and burglarize places in order to advance a political agenda, what would you call them?

Me, I'm all for a little mayhem in the face of gross injustice, but call a spade a spade.

Now where's that steak...

22. Didn't say you supported Bush.
Just said you have a real similar definitin of terrorism. And a real similar tolerance for cruelty.

8. Actually this encourages me some. This message resonates for some.
It is a lot smarter and safer than trying to disrupt lets say deer hunting, with hunters armed with Rifles, knives and Compound Bows with broadheads.

I am sympathetic to some parts of their cause but admit I am a Carnivore that kills, process and consumes meat.

12. Great. You've admitted you're a carnivore. The world hasn't ended.
Why not still support the other things PETA does that you do agree with?
