I don't know - some of that is probably transplants. Some of it might be sympathy for what they think the confederacy means. Some of it's low grade rebellion ("this'll piss of the liberals so it must be a good idea"). Some of it is racism, probably.

I've seen the Confed flag all over the damned place here. As a matter of fact, the easiest place to spot it is to look somewhere else on the pickup that you spot a "Sportsmen for BUSH" sticker on.

...and I hardly ever see one. Granted, I live in a large city (basically always have), but even when I travel outside the city I hardly ever see one. Maybe on the occasional big truck, but who knows where they are from?
