"Plants closing left and right under Pretzelhacker!!!"
GM to LAY OFF 25,000 working Americans!

GM to import more parts/cars from China!

Really, I wish people would start using this kind of rhetoric rather than bitching about SUV's and debating whether Union-negotiated health insurance is expensive. If we had universal health care coverage it wouldn't be an issue. Don't buy into the right's agenda on this one. Bush cut taxes for the top 1% of Americans and meanwhile our jobs are going everywhere but here!

1. Even right wing nuts are starting to agree that exporting
our industrial infrastructure in the name of short term profit is a stupid, stupid thing to do and will cost us the next big war.

Both parties have presided over the looting of American industry, but the pace always quickens when the traitorous GOP is in power.

We are going to lose the next big war, lose it badly, and our nukes won't save us, and it's all in the name of greed.

4. Boycott GM, their cars suck anyways. However,
I don't agree that all we need is universal health care; it would certainly help, but it is not the only issue. China has much lower labor costs, and a much less regulated business environment. That is, they let you dump your poisonous shit into the river.

It is interesting to note that GM's competition (Toyota, in particular) is eating their lunch because they build better products. Toyota builds Tundra trucks in the United States. A number of foreign auto manufacturers have built plants in the U.S. Somehow they make it work where GM can't. Could it be that GM can't compete?

However, Toyota was planning a hybrid production plant in the U.S. and recently changed their minds and decided on Canada due to lower labor costs, so there's where solving the health care problem could really help. But GM would be screwing the American worker health care or no health care, because they can't compete.

Roll your eyes while I beat the dead horse: GM sucks, and they can't compete.

Boycott GM.

5. If we had universal health care it would solve the health care question
wouldn't it? The right crows constantly that benefits cost their beloved companies too much. Are we to just have inferior or no coverage and like it?
