Does anyone agree with me that it got easier to earn good
college grades in the 1960's the longer the Vietnam War went on? I ask this because they are comparing Kerry's Yale grades (he graduated in 1966, to cuckoo bananas' who graduated in 1968) and saying they are essentially the same.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050607/ap_on_re_us/kerry_g...

They are trying to say that we can't tell an idiot when we see one, I guess.

5. I looked at Google and feel affirmed. I remember arguing to
a Professor when I was applying for a graduate program in the late 1980's (when I was pushing forty) that "almost all of my grades are pre-Tet offensive grades" and that should be considered when looking at my undergraduate GPA. Got in, got out and now have a Master's degree suitable for framing.

2. But you have to admit that this wouldn't be the first
time a couple of rich kids got through Yale on a C average. I'm inclined to believe that Kerry probably attended more classes than Bush.

6. Why compare undergraduate grades from the 60's?
It seems pretty obvious which guy actually benefited from his education.

7. I wouldn't say that its grad inflation
as much as it is just Bush's connections.

I mean, how the hell did he get into Yale in the first place?

And how in the world did he get accepted to Harvard's MBA program with such a poor GPA?

9. Unfortunately the same could be said about Kerry and law
school, although I hate * and am in no way defending the ignorant motherbleeper thief.

11. True. Then you would just look at the men now
Compare Kerry, the articulate statesman, to Bush, the inarticulate moron.

Plus, look at Bush entire life. Its a record of failure after failure after failure, with only his last name and financial connections saving his ass.

But you are right, they will say the same about Kerry. But fuck 'em. They already say that anyway.

The problem is, Bush supporters are so infatuated with him that they cannot see his very obvious flaws.

12. Kerry did go into the military before law school
it's not like he got into law school straight from Yale. and he did excell at Naval College and while in service. he also did very well at Yale in things such as debates, public speaking etc which require qualities that can make on do well in law school. so recommendations from his teachers there along with what he did after would help him get into law school.

8. It sure got easier when I started using my initials instead of my name
Female students in engineering classes were downgraded automatically. My work rose a full letter grade when I started using my initials.

10. Do you think that was due to male chauvinism or the fact that
women couldn't get drafted?
