I know people to this day that cannot see the difference between conservative and progressive. I guess it's willful ignorance. They watch Fear Factor and Idol but don't take the time to educate themselves polically.

2. Some members in my extended family are/were like that.
My sis-in-law turned 50 on Nov. 2nd and it was the FIRST time she ever voted. Likewise with 3 younger ones; my husband and I converted them all to voting for the clear choice, and I ain't talkin' 'bout the blivet! :)

3. I Could See People Not Voting Because it Has No Effect on the Election
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 06:30 PM by AndyTiedye
I think that is already happening.

I still figure that I should at least make them go to the trouble of stealing my vote.

5. Have lost friends and left a job over the same frustration.
I just don't have the patience anymore to try and figure that one out. Everyone is effected in *'s America.

6. Grrrrrrr......
The air that you breath, water you drink, schools, crime, streets that you drive on, health care. It's all political. It all has an effect on you.

My take, these people are either lazy or scared. Lazy I can't do anything about, but scared I can help. I try to explain the process of voting to them, get them registered, help figure out their precinct info, organize rides.

I know it seems crazy to people who post here, but some citizens are completely ignorant about voting, intimidated by it and use excuses to cover up the fear. But if you take time to talk to them, to walk them through the process, they will take an interest and make an effort.
