Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 06:43 PM by ruggerson
no link yet -

'They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party'...

-----------------------------------------

Leave it to Sludge. "Caught" on tape, right. Sounds like Dean is telling the truth. They DO all behave the same and all look the same. White trailer trash fundie Stepford Bigots.

3. They've got the long knives out for Dr. Dean
He MUST be stopped or it will endanger the nice little pretend democracy we have now with republicans and faux democrats all on the take.

I have no doubt they will succeed in further marginalizing him in the media. I also have no doubt he will go down fighting. At this point, that is all I can ask of anyone fighting the junta

5. Just ask yourself this one question.
How many "flashing sirens" did Sludge use for stories involving Terry McAuliffe??

Answer: Not many.

If these guys didn't see Dean as a threat, they wouldn't pay him this much attention. The fact that there is a "breaking story" about him every day means that he's got them running scared.

before too long.

The utter and unrelenting mendacity of the administration and the media I think is beginning to wear thin.

Something is going to happen, something that appears small and insignificant at the time, that's going to topple these wiseacres and hopefully, people will remember that Dean called them on their bullshit

How long has it been since Drudge had a scoop that didn't blow up in his face? I hope everyone goes and actually listens to what Dean says.

Bottom lien: He says Republicans are a monolithic party and we are a party of everybody.

Here, here.

16. San Francisco Chronicle Has the Story--Here is the link
:bounce:

Here is the link:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/06/07/MNdean07.TMP

Again the SF Chronicle is repeating the false claim about fund raising--

And here are the actual facts posted here on DU Archives(2 Jun 05) posted by stampy52:

A quick look at actual FEC reports shows that Dean has raised more money in an off year than any DNC Chair in history.
First Quarter of 2005 - $16.7 million
Q1/2004 - $28.7 million
Q1/2003 - $8.7 million
Q1/2002 - $11.8

And Dean is on pace to break the midyear fundraising of $23.7 in the first six months of 2001.

B+ for attempt Dean, but don't hand them any more white Christians. Their faith prevents them from thinking, which is most o the problem in the first place.

the GOP is mostly white. How many black people and asians and mexican's are in the party? He told the truth. Preach it brother! He is right. We are the people's party and have many people here. He's definitley telling the truth. Saying how the democrats are more welcoming of everybody while the republicans are bigots. And it's so true.

33. If you listen to the actual clip:
What Dean says is that the Republicans are representing pretty much ONE group of Americans while the Democrats represent a broad array of diverse Americans, with a far broader agenda.

Truer words were never spoken.

Rock on, Dr. Dean!

35. Here's the problem with this kind of statement for Democrats:
Look what happens when it's the other way around, when Republicans try to characterize the type of people that the Democrats are -- they say Democrats are the "liberal elite." That's smart. Most people know they're not in the "elite", and those who are tend to be overwhelmingly rich and therefore Republican, not "liberal." There's not really THAT many Ivy League professors / downtown artists / Hollywood actors out there. So people will react by thinking, yeah, those Others - those Democrats - that's not for me.

The real problem about saying the Republicans are the White Christians is not that it is somehow too harsh, or too truthful, or some kind of specter-of-the-KKK accusation. The real problem is that the U.S. population is still at 75% white (according to the 2000 census) and is 76% Christian.

So when a Democrat says this, most average people's reaction if anything will be, hey, that's me, I guess the Republicans must be my party. Chances are an American IS a white "Christian" - even if a non-serious, Christmas, Weddings and Funerals type of Christian.

Plus, the statement can't help with a lot of "non-political" average Democrats who are white, and can't help with a lot of serious Christian African-American Democrats.

The thing about democracy after all is about getting the MAJORITY of Joe Q. Public to vote for you.

43. this is gonna come across as
a really bigoted, angry sounding reply- but as one who WAS a fundie- white (with a black son) female, who DID vote republican in my insanity, Dean is RIGHT-ON when he says that the 'party' is white Christians- i'd also add what my 21yr old totally disillusioned oldest son would say- fat, white, rich, selfserving or else ignorant by CHOICE religious people-

The truth does hurt-

Saying nothing, hoping that 'good' will out, didn't work for Kerry- being polite, and 'diplomatic' doesn't get peoples attention anymore- and sad as it is, we have become a nation of people who want to be spoon fed by the media as to what is 'true'- 'good' or 'acceptable' and the media belongs to those who 'own it'-

And YES, there indeed ARE black repubs, and TRULY 'Christ'ian democrats- the difference is,( and prove me wrong please)!! Why is it that people can say the Democrats are a bunch of bleeding heart liberals, who have too much money, and want to tax and spend, and create 'big government'- when in reality, the democrats i see- vary from folks on welfare (as i was once) to the 'filthy rich' like Theresa H.Kerry- yet, she and John, don't resent the notion of giving some of thier incredible EXCESS- to others, while the supposedly 'moral' religious right- hold thier purse strings as tight as they would the zip cord on thier parachutte keeping them from hell?????
They don't live by FAITH- unless it is faith in the almighty dollar that they hold in thier hand-

Republicans who DO have a conscience, and who are NOT 'represented' by the vocal insane conservitive puppets choose to remain silent in the face of the lies and the murder being done with thier 'blessing'- pretending to not know, and smothering any 'hint' of the truth of exactly how BAD this government is????? they are every bit as guilty- ignorance isn't bliss, it's cowardace-

it hurts like hell to really look at this nation, and how messed up we are,- and to begin to entertain any HOPE of changing- but to 'pretend' all is well, and 'we' are good is to dig ourselves deeper into the pit we gotten ourselves into.

i'm so incredibly discouraged, and frustrated tonite-
please don't take this personally-

45. So Dems can't tell the truth w/o alienating ignorant freeper xenophobes?
Is that really your argument?

Do you really think that Dems will ever convert the sort of white Christians who think diversity is a BAD thing? How? You think that these types of xenophobes don't already realize that the Repuke Party is filled with their kind while the Dem Party welcomes all sorts?

How do you propose we attract the bigot vote? Just lie low and cross our fingers, like we did for the 2002 election?
