So, I'm flipping through channels last night at 2:30.... |
|
And there's some bullshit about how "Kerry and *'s GPAs in college were not all that different".
Bullshit; even if it was true, it still means absolutely nothing, and I have a related story to explain why:
I graduated last week, and I found out my class rank was 38th out of 68 students in GPA with a 3.12 . Not pretty, but, OTOH, here was my class schedule:
1st Period: Anatomy and Physiology 2nd Period: AP English: Literature 3rd Period: Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus 4th Period: Word Processing (my only "easy" class) 5th Period: Physics 6th Period: INSITE Lab (we work with computers)
So, yes, a lot of kids probably made better grades, but only 5 or 7 had harder classes.
If I ran for office and a paper printed "Craig Had Below Average Grades in High School", it'd be true, but of course, they probably wouldn't explain why.

How low we've stooped...grades are now an "issue" |

A 4.0 GPA wouldn't change the fact that Bush is dumber than treebark.

2. I'm going to be even more cynical. |

What professor is going to want to flunk the CIA director's son? Or whatever job daddy was in at the time.
But I agree with you completely.

3. Good point Craig (no pun intended). |
|
Some of the classmates I went to school w/ were control freaks who always had to be the BEST. How did they do this? By taking the easiest courseload of course.

7. Yes. The spelling is purposely wrong. |
|
You see, my screen name dates way back to the days of AOL, when ISPs really didn't exist. Someone already had the screen name calAdesi (correct spelling), so I took the incorrect spelling.
Have used this for a long time, since my husband and my favorite beach is Caladesi. Beautiful place.
Good catch.

10. Have to admit I didn't even notice it was misspelled and I go |

there often. It's an island of course and you can't get there except by boat....officially.
Just discovered recently that if you go to the West end of Honeymoon Island and walk North about a mile, there is a really nice narrow stretch of beach without the rocks that were hauled in by that developer years ago.

11. Can we talk? Used to go to Honeymoon all the time and walk |

down to the end of the beach. I loved it because it looked different almost every time. Before I became disabled, my husband and I were heavy-duty beach goers. We used to go to Honeymoon and park at the last parking lot and walk about 1/2 mile down the beach because there were very few people there and NO rocks in the water.
One of our other favorite places is Fort DeSoto (I think it was voted as best beach this year). Anyhow, what a fantastic place that is!
RZ - we have to get together. I will PM you.

The top 10 people or so at my school always have grade averages that exceed 4.0.

8. That's a pretty rough schedule for senior year |
|
Two sciences ain't easy. I took Anatomy and Physilogy this year, and it was a shitload of memorizing
Here's my schedule for next year (I hope)
AP Government (I'll have no problems with this one)
AP Economics
Calculus
English (they don't offer AP English, or I have taken it)
Humanities (A bullshit, but somewhat difficult class that they make us take)
Music History (the one really blow off class I have)
Now here's what my schedule could be if I were lazy...
Architecture (you get an A for showing up to class and a B if you don't)
Computer Multimedia (my homeroom teacher teaches it, that would be another show up and get an A)
Introduction to Calculus (Basically a class that reviews all of the math that we have already done in the past three years and then touches on some Calculus subjects)
English
Humanities
Music History
If I took a schedule that was that easy I'd have a 4.0 senior year with little to no work. With my schedule I'm planning to take, I'll probably get a 3.6 or 3.7 but I'll have to work just as hard as I did this year. If I didn't work it would be closer to a 3.0 or even below.
What classes you take and what teaches you get make all of the difference in the world.

OTOH, I have never even come close to being as stupid as george w. bush.
