Do Free Republic Posters Say Much About Their Family Members in Iraq?
From time to time, we have posters here who have family or friends there or about to deploy there.

I've tried going to the Dark Side's site a few times, but it really really creeps me out. My computer seems contaminated, so I try to avoid the place.

Do they say that their friends/family members liked being there and thought they were accomplishing a lot and that lots of good work is being done and that the Iraqis love us and all of the Hannitized talking points? Or are they more honest? Or are they in denial? Or do they ban any posts that aren't positive?

Anyone brave enough to have read there and report? I would appreciate hearing.

1. From my lurking there, there's nearly nil of that.
Also, there was a "veterans roll call" thread there, followed by another here. We moped the floor with them -- it was like 100 DU veterans for each FR veteran. I couldn't find the link, archive search is horribly slow now.

Fuck, even I am a veteran -- of the Brazilian Army, that is.

2. Would you believe what they said?
Not me. (I'll sometimes even take DU with a grain of salt, as surprisingly honest as most seem to be -- and as much as I'd defend some with my life. Literally.)

5. Yeah, well there is that.
But, there are ways of sniffing that out. Vague reports, no specific locations, etc can be a giveaway if they are making the stuff up.

4. Hahaha! That's funny.
There are people who have family members in Iraq who actually believe this is a justified and merited war... er... invasion?

Oh wait... there are...
