If a Republican were saying about Dems what Dean says about Repubs--and there are plenty doing just that even as we speak--they'd be getting a pass. It's standard OP in America to trash Dems. Even Penn Jilette does it! It's just crazy to trash Repubs.

1. I browsed FR yesterday
to get info for another post. I was specifically searching about Kerry and his 180 that he signed.

The only thing I can say about freepers is, They really live in their own world.

2. What's nuts is that he said that the very week
that Rush Limbaugh said that all Democratic Voters are unemployed and so don't need a day off to go vote. Which comment drew more fire?

7. Furthermore, which comment demonstrates a grasp of reality?
It takes an idiot from the white people's party to make a stupid statement like Limbaugh's.

3. I think that what he is saying
is what many democrats know to be true. The republicans talk about democrats being their opposition in a morality play/cultural war. In a sense, I agree with that .... I find their actions immoral, and I believe that we are involved in a struggle that will decide if the Constitution remains a part of American culture. I think dean is saying things that need to be said.

As the Goldwater ad said.

6. Oh, I like it!
That should be picked up by the democrats at the national level.

8. We should also start referring to the GOP as the White People's Party.
Not the elected Democrats, but the rest of us.

9. I'm not sure about that,
but I think we should be exposing the growing alliance between the southern republicans and the Council of Conservative Citizens. The Southern Poverty Law Center has enough information available to show that not only is the CCC the KKK, simply wearing suits rather than sheets .... but that the republican party promotes their agenda. I think that exposing and confronting hatred might be a better path to take than adding to that hate.

10. Not adding to the hate. Just stating facts.
The GOP is made up mostly of white right-wing Christians. Is that hateful or true?

And what would be the benefit of using the label you mentioned? Can you see any possible negatives?

I will refer to the party as the White People's party from time to time, but I am not seriously suggesting all Democrats do so. Even if it is true. And it is. ;)

(And they're also truly pieces of shit for the most part, too.)

13. I think they are vulnerable
on the racist issue. The spring '05 SPLC's Intelligence Report has a significant amount of information on their CCC connections.

16. Remember what that connection did to Lott.
Of course he's still in the Senate, but he's not quite the man he used to be.

of the US government.

Republican legislators take money from business interests and then do what these interests want them to do.

It is as simple as that.

Yep, Howard Dean is absolutely right. Republicans really are pieces of shit.

17. Absolutely!!
I'd loved to see a thread collecting overblown statements of Republicans, where they said it and when.

I just don't understand what the big hullaballo is all about! Dean was NOT speaking to a generic crowd.
