Costas taking CNN role
Costas is already the host of the talk show "Costas Now" as well as "Inside the NFL" for HBO. HBO and CNN are both units of Time Warner Inc. (Research), as is CNN/Money.

"Bob's broad range of interests, his quick wit and his deft interview skills will engage viewers in the best King tradition," said a statement to CNN staff from Jon Klein, president of CNN-U.S. "We are delighted that he will be filling in for Larry from time to time."

"Larry King Live" is CNN's best rated program, with an average of 1.2 million viewers so far in 2005. Costas will be one of a number of substitute anchors for King.

4. I hate Bob Costas
Overrated, self absorbed prick. I will never forget the insulting comments he made about the Chinese and just about every other country at the open ceremony of the Barcelona Olympics, I believe.

7. He bugged me doing that too. I remember thinking how pompous
of him, this shrimp of a man who couldn't be an athlete if he wanted to. I just chalk it up to him having the "short man syndrome"

5. Sports guys save journalism: Kieth, NBC; Costas, CNN
Costas is great. I love the guy because he doesn't bull shit around, he tells the truth. He's also bright and funny. He knows how to connect.

Sports broadcasting is the last hope to salvage the reputation of American video journalizm.

 but it's true.
