Is It Me, Or Is Ed Schultz Being More Of A Jackhole Than Usual?
Today he is criticizing Howard Dean's comments about Republicans being a party of white Christians, not because it's not true but because he sees it as somehow "dividing" the country.

Unless I missed Bush's regular appearances at NAACP meetings or the Texas Republican platform did NOT in fact stipulate this country as a "Christian nation", then all he's doing is withering under the usual Scaife-funded smear campaign. So either grow a backbone or I'm petitioning my station to switch to Randi.

6. I've noticed a bit of a sea-change with Schultz
He's always been a moderate, but it seems as if the recent ascendency of the left within the Democratic party has gotten his hackles up.

He really shut down a bunch of people on the Marijuana legalisation topic the other day. He seemed very unwilling to listen to the facts.

He's an establishment honk.

11. I Like Him To Explain To Dean How He Is "THE LEFTIES"
especially when he's a governor of a state that had balanced budgets every year, got a 100% rating from the NRA, etc, etc.

13. Yeah, well it isn't like Bush has f@#ked anything up lately that Schultz
could talk about instead - Downing Street Minutes; changing scientific documents; Bolton; social security; the new ABC/WP poll; Iraq; Tom Delay; Coingate; Gitmo; Chainsaw murderer getting into the US; military recruiting; etc.

15. Sorry guys, I'm with Schultz on this one
Howard Dean did himself and the party no good by name calling the Repubs. This stuff is street corner antics. I'm tired of this. What does it accomplish? Let's get serious and get some work done, namely in Dean's case, raising $$$.

19. What does it accomplish? First of all, it's not name calling. It's the
truth, which the GOP wouldn't recognize if it came up and bit them in their respective asses.

Street corner antics? Well, our party's been having a little Democratic afternoon tea party for a number of years now, and we've lost everything.

We did make a lot of money during the last election cycle, though. And a fat lot of good that did us.

20. Dean's Not A Politician, I Believe He Has A Right To Be Partisan
especially when he's talking about the giant elephants in the room:

From page 8 of the Texas Republican Party Platform:

"The Republican Party of Texas affirms the United States of America is a Christian Nation ..."

and what Laura Ingraham said the other day:

INGRAHAM: Well, I think it's interesting that people like Zuckerman would be saying this now, coming off of an election where President Bush was elected with middle-class support, Bill , from about $23,000 to about $50,000 bracket for annual salary. Bush won by six points in all Americans and 22 points in white middle-class voters. So the Republicans are clearly connecting with the regular people, where the Democrats aren't.

21. What does it accomplish for him to be on the air bitching about
Dean? Focus on BushCo.

It is the circular firing squad, eating our own, call it whatever you want but it is extremely counterproductive.

He doesn't have to agree with Dean but he also doesn't have to FOCUS on Dean.

22. Name calling was not involved. You're getting the wrong info from Ed
It was Ken Mehlmann the RNC chair who responded to Dean's comments with ""We gotta get ourselves beyond this point where when we disagree about politics, we call the other guy names," he said." http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=830758

Why is Ed repeating the RNC frame, that Dean name-called? Dean did not.

Dean made a statement this week saying the RNC is mainly white and Christian. He came back today to add even more clarity: that the RNC has the agenda of the Christian conservatives. He also said by focusing on him the press and the nation ignores what the bush admin is doing and what we need to do.

NO NAME CALLING.

It's the right wing characterizing it as such and Ed is apparently their tool on liberal talk radio.

Also, Dean informed Ed during last week's interview that the article Ed cited (with the false info about Dean's fundraising) was faulty and yet Ed still cites it and today said Dean needs professional fundraisers.

To do what? Dean is bringing money well ahead of last year's pace, a prez election year.

Chairman Howard Dean has no fundraising problems - that's pure right wing propaganda and Ed is repeating it even today.

Why is that?

Whose agenda is Ed working?

Certainly not ours if he uses right wing smear and right wing frames to defame our chairman.

Here's the latest msnbc article trying the frame Dean:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8142785/

Ed Scultz can't see the forest for the trees and keeps bashing the bright star of our party. Why is that?

He says Howard Dean needs a handler...Howard Dean needs to be more like Prez bush... Howard Dean needs professional fundraisers...Howard Dean needs to stay on message...

I think not. Ed Schultz is the one staying on message this week and morphing into a right wing mouthpiece, right before our ears.
