4. I never was able to get permission to archive Ed's show...
So I bounce between the shows that I do archive; Tony Trupiano, Randi Rhodes, Mark Levine.

He's on our side for pete's sake. Come on, please, let's use that
energy to pick on Republicans.

And I'd archive him if I could get permission. But he DOES have quite a high opinion of himself.

Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 03:11 PM by Mojambo
Not a progressive and NOT a liberal.

Does he have a net positive effect by hammering Republicans a lot of the time on his show? Probably.

But he's far from the best voice for the progressive cause.

16. Why do you think he is on our side - because he keeps saying
he is? Listen carefully, after he makes claim to being a progressive or a lefty he does an anti-democratic rant.

Today I heard him yap on and on about Dean. I was/am not a big Dean fan but Ed's motive have become way to obvious to ignore.

25. Yep and he thinks there are only two sides of the debate his and.........
well you know. He says he is going to win by using their tactics, but in the end he will only be assimilated into them. I can't tell if he is being genuine sometimes or just looking for someone to fight and argue with besides. In any case maybe sending him a note telling him lots of other people have many things they can do other spend their time listening to him. He seems to swallow the government line on 9/11 without question, so he how is much use anyway

and appeals to a demographic of society that I think dems can stand to improve their image with.

I keep waiting for him to break out his tackle box to tell us how to catch a neo-con with one of those purple fuzzy lures.

22. He bothers me too.
I probably wouldn't have thought as much about it if Randi Rhodes had better feelings towards him but as far as I can tell she thinks he's a scumdog, and she's in a helluva lot better position to judge his character than I am.

15. Article here:
Article

It looks like Democracy Radio just sold off their share of the program. It seems to me like Democracy Radio is just simply looking to find and build up radio hosts and then move on.

According to the article, it was sold to a former CEO of Clear Channel (so, technically, it wasn't sold to Clear Channel, per say).

21. Schultz, an asshole only fucking moderates can listen to...
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 03:48 PM by LaPera
Certainly no liberal progressive...

The fucker never takes a stand on anything...Over & over people call in with very liberal ideology and/or heavy accusations of what liars and assholes the republicans are...And Schultz will just listen, and say thanks for the call, or change the subject, never committing and helping the liberals elaborate what true bullshit republican agenda and lies are, no he won't rock the boat...it might mean it will cost HIM some bucks, somehow...what a prick, it's sickening!

What is that "leftie" "rightie" bullshit...Does he think its all cute? Just a fucking game, all for his paycheck.

The asshole is a fucking moderate joke at best!

23. "I appreciate the call" is Ed's favorite
line when he has nothing to say to the caller - which is all the time. He's in way over his head and does a piss poor job of even representing the "moderate" Dem point of view. He's completely clueless when it comes to progressives. He gives airtime to Lieberman for God's sake. Better than nothing, but not by much.

30. Totally!! "I Appreciate The Call" God He's So Boring.
Half the time he isn't aware of the issues the smarter callers bring up. There are some good callers on that show but as a host, he is not well-informed.``

26. Well, I see moderates as "fence sitters"-don't make changes too fast now.
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 04:56 PM by LaPera
Whichever way the wind blows, the "undecided" "not really sure"...Moderates could vote for a republican because they may have "moderate views"....Moderates have no real ideology of their own...but anything that's nice, nice with either party suits them just fine.

I see the moderates as mostly employed at fair paying jobs, non union, (perhaps even anti union).

Digging deep into the under belly of the slime of republican politics is NOT their cup of tea...They believe though, that they are very well informed...

They watch a lot of television, mostly white, upscale, with much greater interest in many, many other things, film, gossip, fashion, boating, etc...(nothing wrong with any of it, but that's a moderate). Politics falls way down on their list...

Very polite and one should not talk loudly about republicans or others I despise & disagree with, be patient and kind to even fascist...

You get my point, or should I go on?

I hate it when he stops talking about himself being so important to the messaging etc etc....it's a turn-off, so Rushlike and he doesn't need to "message" me about himself over and over. ``

27. I don't know what the big scoop was
But for the most part Big Eddie is cool. When he first started, he was a kind of warmonger and liked Scarborough. He has softened on the gung-ho war bs and now bashes Scarborough. He really rails on slant head Hannity and Annthrax coulter.

He doesn't believe in the lihop/mihop stuff, but he is not completely informed and doesn't know the extent to which the Neocons will go.
I like him more as time goes by, but if he says something wrong he needs to be corrected and often is.

I don't consider myself moderate or completely liberal. DFL works for me.

I had to turn this loudmouth off -- his emphasis on "messaging" and his self-importance in it, I think Dems are smarter and don't need and actualy resent BS echo-chamber rhetoric that is mother's milk to the Freeps.

We can't be more GOP than GOP and who the hell wants to?

We need Schultz voice as much as all of the others we have out there now. Beggers can't be choosers.

He's good for the demographics he attracts. Those who listen to him are the ones that wouldn't listen to many others that some here might admire.

We need voices peeps!

the more, the betta!
