BREAKING NEWS: DEAN TELLS THE TRUTH
And the Republicans/some Democrats get their panties in a wad over it.
All media covers it.
Dems are distancing themselves from Dean.
HOWEVER...on the other side of the aisle...
BUSH LIES AND KILLS THOUSANDS
and the same Repubs/Dems are apologists for it.

How fucked up is that?

1. I don't get why Dems would be angered at Dean's statements...
Dean is saying EXACTLY the things we say when we talk among ourselves!

The Democratic party needs to grow a frickin backbone. We're dealing with evil thugs and terminal liars on the Republican side. We can't be shrinking violets when one of us stands up to these animals and DARES TO SPEAK THE TRUTH!!

As far as I'm concerned Dean hasn't gone far enough! This bastard pResident LIED to us repeatedly and brought us to war based on major lies! They torture people, while thumbing their noses at the Geneva Convention. They've destroyed our reputation around the globe....and some Dems are angry at Dean for calling a spade a spade?

What are we so afraid of?

We're not dealing with normal people! These neocons don't care about America, our democracy or the Constitution!

Harsh, truthful, pointed rhetoric is imperative. It's a first step to defeating these extremist, warmongering criminals

5. It's Like Some Dems Want Us To Be The Sally Field Party !!!
Wait for years and years to win, and then gush and cry saying, "You like me, you really really like me!"

:puke:

The Republican Party is not the KKK, but KKKers who vote, vote Republican.

The Republican Party is not the American Nazi Party, but American Nazis who vote, vote Republican.

The Republican Party is not the Christian Fascists, but Christian Fascists who vote, vote Republican.

Dean is just shining a penlight on the tip of one ugly and corrupt iceberg.

11. So true, WillyT! We should stop trying to be the "Sally Field"...
party.

When you stand up for yourself--you make a lot of enemies. If those enemies are abusive bullies--yes, they will make a lot of noise.

However....WHO CARES!!!

Your Sally Field comment reminds me of something Murphy Brown said to Corky Sherwood, on the "Murphy Brown" show.

"You can be a good reporter, or you can be the Homecoming Queen. But you can't have it both ways. You have to make a decision."

Same with the Dems.

Do we want to be liked by everyone, and left without a country and a Constitution---OR DO WE WANT TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, CALL A SPADE A SPADE AND FIGHT LIKE HELL WITH NO APOLOGIES????

I vote for the latter!

hmmm dean told the truth? Not really
Dean said republicans are “not very friendly to different kinds of people, they are a pretty monolithic party ... it’s pretty much a white, Christian party.”

Doesn't that alienate the people on the republican party who don't fit into that stereotype? Doesn't that make us just like the repugs who through out over generalizations about liberals?

And we all know that for some strange reason, some blacks, gays, non christians stick up for the republican party. So there is not truth, just a stereotype.

Oh and to say that REPUBLICANS never worked and honest day, wow that alienates a the whole "white, Christian Party" to no end.

If Dean wants to do some good, then he should be focusing on BUSH, not the citizens who support him. He should be providing information about the Administration and their lies instead of spitting out some democratic propoganda. He is only going to succeed in turning people AWAY from politics with his stereotypes.

>>Doesn't that make us just like the repugs who through out over generalizations about liberals?<<

YES IT DOES, and it's damn well about time!!! Don't forget something: THEY WIN playing those games! WE LOSE playing nice, and I'm getting sick and tired of losing.

14. At this point, who cares? I don't.
I've heard many white Christian Republicans tell me that they couldn't believe I was a Democrat because most of them don't work and are lazy! Then some have told my daughter she isn't a real Christian if she is a Democrat because Democrats support "killing babies". Thankfully, she turned it around and brought up all the killing in the war.

I'm sick of it.

We DO focus on the lies but nobody pays attention, do they?

Don't take me personally, I'm just mad about the whole situation and I've always been one not to stoop to the oppositions level but what Dean said is speaking truth. What individual Republicans have told me and my daughter are NOT the truth. That is propaganda.

15. what about the 50 million people who don't vote because they think
they don't want to choose between a fascist party and a party that won't even stand up for themselves?

17. "Doesn't that alienate the people on the republican party .... "
Actually, it wakes up the sheeple ...... the repug woters who aren't hard care ... more like 'habitual' ...... no matter what Dean says, so long as there's even a grain of truth in it, puts the issue out there. People who aren't hard core, hard right, will start to think about it.

And that's a good thing, in my book.

18. Actually, I think it is "pretty much a white, Christian party."
Maybe I'm wrong.

There are plenty of white Christian liberals/Democrats who appreciate diversity, equal opportunity, civil rights, etc. So I'm not sure how it alienates them.

And "most never worked an honest day in their lives" referred to GOP politicians, as I heard it.

3. "What is truth?"
Pontius Pilate said that to Jesus.

Pontius Pilate would have made a great CEO of a media corporation or a bigwig in either American politcal party.

4. Dean is garnering media attention the
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 04:02 PM by LibDemAlways
only way a Dem can - through controversy.

On the Ed Schultz show earlier Ed was blathering on and on about how Dean needs to stay "on message" regarding policy issues - health care, social security, etc and that Dean needs to hire "handlers." Nothing could be further from the truth. What Schultz and namby pamby centrists like Richardson don't get is that the media doesn't give a shit about where Dems stand on the issues and isn't going to waste newsprint or airtime on a Dean policy speech.

Dean uttering a truth that makes the repukes squeal and the media take notice is sheer genius. Keep talking, Howard. You've got the bastards' attention.

6. Yeah I'm with you
For once the Dems actually have a story the media is covering. If the rethugs can have over the top media grabbers like Frist why can't the Dems. I mean it seems like part of the game of politics.
