Offshoring, automation. It's about peak oil.
Get rid of the rest of us so they can have it all, even after the crash.

Thoughts?

Techies are in trouble, unless you are in a very specialized niche.

5. Which is increasingly unlikely thanks to thin client computing...
dumb tubes - the thin client contains a skimmed down linux and connects to Windows Terminal Services.

I'm waiting for hackers to break through Windows Terminal Services. I could use a laugh.

Eggs in one basket. Not very bright.

7. Any buzz on the
"Oh Shit!"'s pouring out of board rooms as the results of offshored software projects are turning belly up? I hear an occasional horror story, about what I expected, really, but nothing yet as far as a concensus as to "Maybe this was a dumb idea."

Actually, my experience with corporate governance inclines me to believe they will respond to offshoring disasters by even more offshoring.

6. That's been my take on it for several years now.
Nothing else makes sense.

Once 90+% of Americans are poverty-stricken day labor, the remaining oil will last muuuch longer for the haves in their gated compounds.

Actually, I expect the gated compounds to burn early on, but the failure to anticipate that is just another aspect of the blind idealism and ridiculously naive planning that gave us things like the Iraq War.

8. Ditto.
People have been sufficiently dumbed down.

The corporate elite saw in the 1960s that freedom of speech and freedom of thought is dangerous.

It took 10 years, but once they got power...

In the end, the wealthy will get their demise. Hopefully slow asphyxiation in a poison atmosphere they created out of their greed.
