Warning: Web CEO downloadable (free)software has a trojan horse
in it.

Found it during a scan after installed at work today. It was listed as a key logger as well.

2. I saw that deal on personal info swapping inside chatrooms last
night.... not good. I am sure this sort of bug contributes to this phenomenon.

5. Unless you're downloading from a reputable site
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 07:28 PM by Warpy
like CNet or Tucows or any of the big designers like Mozilla, it's a great idea to run any downloaded software through your antivirus program before you install it. Once installed, well written malware may be hard as hell to get rid of.

On edit: contact the site where you downloaded the software and inform them it contains malware. No site wants the reputation of distributing that stuff and my guess is that they don't know it's there.

6. Gawd, I'm glad I run only Linux.
...where this kind of thing cannot happen.

Linux has none of this crap. No viruses, no adware, no spyware, no trojans. A person's best protection is to be able to know what is running on their computer. If people can't openly inspect the source code, I won't run it.
