Because of CBS evening news, I donated to the DNC for the first time. |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 07:27 PM by MrsGrumpy
Until now, all of my money has gone to various local Dems and the DFA. I refused to donate to the DNC, for I didn't feel they had my interests at heart, plus, they were pretty clear they didn't need my tiny little addition. Tonight, after listening to the CBS Evening news tell me how Democrats the country over are upset with Chairman Dean...after listening to speculation that this will hurt the Democratic coffers, I anted up...25 dollars, not a lot...but a statement.
It isn't about the big donors and their special interests. It's about the people who are sick and tired of big business and big money ruling both parties. I am hoping others join me today, and donate $5, $10, $15, or $25 to make a point. They're not listening to us. They think we don't count. I say we do. Dean brought in those donation totals from the little people. If he continues talking, I'll continue to donate.
Dean has begun framing the debate that everyone has been hollering for. Let's get to the meat of it now.
Thanks,
Laura

1. Nothing says yes like cash for the DNC |
|
That is what he will be judged on, whether he can bring in the big bucks.

2. Maybe that's what Dean is counting on - |
|
we are here, we may be "the common folk", but we are here. The corporations and the big wigs underestimate our power and if we can unite for the TRUTH, well that's cool with me. :toast:

He stirred me up to donate during the primaries, and finally he's speaking out...so I'll grab my wallet again. :hi:

Dean was not my candidate and I didn't donate to him during the primaries. But now, I love what he's doing and I'm more than happy to donate to the DNC. :hi:

14. Again and again, I believe he'll take on the dirty work for the Dem |
|
party. He made it okay to speak out against the war in the primaries, and he's making it okay for all to question the "values" of the compassionate conservative. Instead of having our backs, he's taking it on the chin for us once more. And I am grateful.

I won't be able to send much but if I don't put some money where my mouth is, then I won't be entitled to complain that the Dems should speak up.

And we could use DU as a free think tank for Dems. We could kick around problems. Afterall, the future of democracy, liberty, and the American Dream© depend on liberals, progressives, greens, and others fighting for what is right.

12. I read somewhere else that we should donate |
|
10.01, 20.01, 25.01 and so on so that the internet donations can be distinguished.
Interesting idea.

16. I figured my little donation did more than any comments I could make. |
|
This is not a good time to scrape up the donation, and I hate all the solicitations that follow, but sending a supportive message is really important.

17. Yes....I'm going to poney up $25. also. I'm sick of the Dean crap--they |
|
want to force him to resign. Bad enough we deal with the Right now we gotta deal with our own party.
I knew they'd go at him week after week to force his resignation. It's important to show force and donate just this once because it will show them their's "push back." And the DLC will know just why these extra donations are coming in.
I've given to candidates but couldn't cough it up for the DNC in the last five years...so this is a big deal for me...who doesn't like to give to them figuring it will go to Biden and Lieberman or K-Street. But this one's for support for Dean.

18. Why Are You Believing The Mediawhores? What This REALLY Is About |
|
is how easily DU'ers allow the Mediawhores to shape their opinions and reactions.
This is really sad.
Saw it with Wes Clark and now with Dean at DNC.

whores. Really, cryingshame, what is up? The donations in support of Dean are in no way, shape or form a belief of what the MSM is spewing. Read carefully please...You have taken me out of context. I don't like it.
Thanks.

20. he must be saying something right... the RW radio pundits |
|
have hardly spoken of anything else for the last couple of days. I'm beginning to think the worse they talk about you the more you have done to frighten them. Hate is born of fear. Believe we have hit some raw nerves. Boy are they defending Gitmo, too. I hope they live to regret that. I hope we can paint them all with the same brush as lovers of human rights violations. By the way that does remind me I could cough up another $25.00 or so. Plus I keep thinking about Amnesty International and ACLU. let's see where is my envelope; Democratic National Committee...430 south Capitol Street, SE....PO Box 96585....Washington, DC.....20090-6585

26. I never donated to money to a candidate before Dean, and I wouldn't |
|
have touched the DNC with a ten foot pole before he got there. Just sent of my $25 bucks, though, because his recent corporate media jujitsu is just too awesome for words.
Me: "Give 'em hell, Howard!"
Howard: "I just say the truth, and Republicans think it's hell."
