10. Change OR to AND and we have a winner!!!
What bothers me about North is that he violated his commissioned oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That makes him a total traitor and a scumbag, IMHO. I fail to understand why he didn't do some serious time for his actions, yet Martha Stewart goes to jail...!!!

17. Heard the name David...
... Sentelle? I believe he was one of the appeals court judges (Silberman might have been another, don't recall) who overturned his conviction on the basis of the evidence being tainted due to his immune Congressional testimony.

Yeah, Ollie was one of the biggest stinkers of the bunch (my own sense is that he'd probably perjured himself any number of times, and no one went after him on them--too much evidence missing and no corroboration), and he knows a great deal more than he's ever said, despite his appearance of being fully forthright. Plus, there was one Richard Cheney running behind him, trying to thwart every Congressional subpoena he could.

Cheers.

I was going for the BELIEVER in both Powell and Duvall's character.

I've been wrong before. I promise it'll happen again ;)

12. North, IMHO, was a zealot willing to do absolutely anything his Repuke
president wanted: the Congress, SC, MSM and general population are now loaded with those zealots willing to do/support absolutely anything a Repuke president wants, so the cancer has spread to a near-terminal status.

21. And he thought he was too damn important to respond to
...the USMC commandant or the Secretary of the Navy. Talk about a hubris-infused turd.

Still amazes me how the little pecker landed on his feet, what with all the shit he pulled. Eventually, when no one cares so much anymore, the full extent of his misconduct will come out. It really should be studied in military ethics classes...he displayed the worst possible conduct by a commissioned officer, and a complete disregard for his oath, his duties and his responsibilities.

Nowhere in the commissioned oath is there an exhortation to be loyal to the PRESIDENT. Your loyalty is expressed to the constitution, even though you serve at the pleasure of the president. It's the key thing that separates officer service from enlisted (whose oath declares that they will obey the orders of the president), contracted service.

24. The loyalty of every Repuke in Congress is to the Constitution rather than
an individual: that's why they march in numbing lockstep to the beat of their drummer, no matter how ruinous the law, policy, or action, no matter how much they abrogate their constitutional responsibilities and prerogatives to one man on a one-way extreme ideological mission.

16. Oliver North should have been stood against a wall and shot for treason
Instead, he's living a life of luxury, rubbing elbows with the rich and powerful, and even being sought out for his opinion on matters of public policy.

Every decent American should be ashamed.

Both are so apt. Another you forgot is "not very bright Marine who worked his way up by kissing ass." He is truly dumber than dirt, and untrustworthy, and duplicitous, and a felon.
