On several occasions Rove has stated that he was positioning the GOP for generations of power. Yea, I realize that the voting machines are rigged, but think about this. H.R. 1528. "The child protection act." That protects no one and makes you inform on your own children or do mandatory time. Think about how many Blacks and Hispanics will end up doing time for this law. Think about all of the "educated" college students that this law will effect. After this law passes and goes into effect, there will not be a Democratic party left. That will give them 2 years to round everyone up before the next presidential election. You a hippie, but don't smoke pot? Think about how many right wingers will turn you in as a suspect anyway? Then what? Then they search your house and find some other reason to toss your ass in jail. There isn't going to be a Democratic party in short order if we don't act now. Call your Rep. and Senator about your opposition to H.R. 1528, or we won't have a party left to support. Many Democrats will end up in jail, and they won't even have to rig another election.

1. Right, we must act now...
We have to keep fighting. We have to fight to save our country's future, our children's future, and our grandchildren's future.

2. Believe me I am acting!
Everyone who hears about this is outraged! Screw these Nazi wannabes. but I think your hypothesis is entirely correct. With the announced new policy of concentrating on marijuana vice the hard drugs, this dovetails nicely.

Down with the totalitarians!

I guess, because I used to be a Republican, I can think like one when I have to. You couldn't write a law to take more minorities and Democrats to jail if you tried. Why aren't they going after meth or coke? This is transparent if you only look at it for a minute. When was the last time you heard about a pot overdose? Or women prostituting themselves for pot? This is the fastest way to round up brown people and Democrats, and if people don't start waking up it's game over. Plus, this law only promises jail time, and that is not any help to an addict.

4. These are federal drug laws
They have always been 1000 times worse than state ones. They use it to scare people into informing. It happened to Tim Allen (of Home Improvement fame) when he was arrested for cocaine dealing. They said he could be sentenced to 6 years in prison under federal law, or to 2 years with time off for good behavior under state law IF he informed on his suppliers. He was in for 1.5 years, so guess which deal he took.

It has always been this way. This really isn't that different.

5. I realize that the federal laws have always been tough, but give me a
break. Have you ever known anyone with a drug problem? If you have if you don't inform on them you go to jail. How is that American? How can they make laws about mandatory sentences when it's the fault of the government that we even have the drug problem that we do today? Don't dismiss this so quickly, this law will be the end of America as we know it. Russia and Germany both had "informant" laws as they slipped into fascism.
Also, don't you think it odd that they are going after pot, when it isn't as dangerous as coke or meth? When was the last time you heard of someone stealing to support a pot habit? They want pot heads because they are liberals pure and simple. I don't like make generalizations, but in college all the little R-wingers were up to there elbows in coke, and lefties smoked the herb.
What if an undercover walks up to you and asks you about weed, and you turn and walk away? If you don't report it in 24 hours you go to jail for a minimum of 2 years. This law could easily be misconstrued to put anyone in jail. This isn't a good law, period. I am against drugs as much as the next guy, but this is clearly an attack on our party.

to take on crack and smack!
Hmm, the "new" "disease" of "amotivational syndrome" (around since the 60s) and patchy lung cancer reports (well, they don't care about lung cancer at all, they just absolved the cig corps of $120B) vs. uh, dying in agony and often taking people with you.

7. What brought on the anti-war movement of the sixties? Reefer. They
are simply trying to cut another peace movement off at the knees, and put some Democrats in jail.

12. Believe me, I don't agree with it
I realize my message seemed ambivilant, but I'm not. I also think it's repulsive the way they can sieze accused drug dealer's assets even before the accused has gone to trial. What kind of America is that?

9. My Rep sure is a piece of work
isn't he. I'm hoping we can get a Dem in his spot, but the sob is so entrenched he doesn't even feel the need to campaign any more.

Even so, the challenger last time did better than anyone expected him to. The higher turnout probably helped.

10. Buy gun(s), and follow G Gordon Liddys advice: headshots
I'm not advocating violence, just self-defence. I'd truly rather die than lose my liberty.

August 26, 1994 - Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of bitches.

September 15, 1994 - If the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms insists upon a firefight, give them a firefight. Just remember, they're wearing flak jackets and you're better off shooting for the head.
