1. That's right, republicans are multicultural, multiracial, representative
...of every faith, tolerant of all points of view and willing to discuss and debate the issues without malice.... uhmmmm

:freak:   :sarcasm:

2. No they're not
I haven't seen the latest numbers but it's something like 30% insane gibbering morons, and 25% space aliens. I think White Christians come in around 10%.

3. "Mostly" is accurate.
"Accurate" isn't the problem.

Neither side wants to take hyperbole as hyperbole or generalizations as generalizations anymore.

And both sides have this knee-jerk reflex of defending hyperbole as fact, and generalizations as true to the last detail.

Makes for impossible discourse.

9. Oh, so true....

If only people would bother with nuance and detail and meticulous nitpicking. Then we'd all suddenly be sensible people to each other, forget all the wrongings and abuses and principled differences and casualties of our collective past. We'd settle all our differences over a beer or a latte.

Fuck no.

Damn it, our discourse is crude and brutal because the issues and political behavior involved are crude and brutal. Our discourse is crude and brutal because the interests involved are the continuous and casual abuses of power of millions of Americans toward millions of others and many trillions of dollars in wealth.

Our discourse is crude and brutal because only a fool is otherwise when our Constitution gets betrayed and disobeyed and abused for interests that are petty and foolish in the history of the American people.

5. See past the word christian
The word has been embedded for centuries with kind, nice, miracles, holy, etc. Seeing through to the inside/outside is one big word: HATE. It is never said, BUT to be a real right christian you have to use it where anyone is different! Scientific proved ideas, non white races, loving all people, and generally enjoying and making life enjoyable.
Those who recognize all those things are being SINS, and repent, are
the ones who loudly proclaim christianity belongs only to them.

11. Is everyone really taking that literally? I understood it to be a
criticism of what the current far-right repuke party's AGENDA is, on that is solely concerned with advancing the rich, white, christian (aka Fristian) not-worked-an-HONEST-day-in-their-lives ELITE at the expense of any/all others. Especially tugging at the white christian base who are suckered into voting against their own well being.

But I didn't need Dean to tell me that, it's been obvious for a long time.
