1. I was mistreated because of my Service Dog once... |
|
:hi: I am also deaf
I am in South Florida. While back I brought my hearing service dog to Wal-Mart close to where I lived and was treated rudely. They thought only the blind could, not the deaf and other HC people even though they had a sign saying "service dogs". Shane, my dog, was wearing orange jacket/collar. One of employees pressed her finger hard on my shoulder because I couldn't hear her talking to me behind my back and asked if I was blind!! Huh? I never went back there. I ought to report them.

and it is sad to see that people with such disablities (and I mean all disablities) are being mistreated in this manner. My grand father Durward C. Young fought so hard for such provisions. He was the one that got the Handicap Act passed here in Michigan from which my mother tells me was the forerunner for the ADA.
He since passed away five years ago and I miss him dearly.
He would not be pleased with Wal-Mart's treatment of deaf and HOH people.
