Anyone hear * say "terrifieders" in a speech yesterday? |
|
He was speaking to a carpenter's union (I believe). I heard a clip of his speech this morning on NPR's news break (not in an actual story) and haven't seen it referenced here on DU.
He was defending the Patriot Act and he said that it was to be able to catch "our terrifieders".
Anyone else catch that?!?

5. Maybe he was trying to say Terror Fighters? |
|
But personally, I like Terror Fighters. Sounds like they would, you know, fight terror. Kinda like Crime Fighters or Fire Fighters.

6. You're probably right. I just looked at the video of his speech to... |
|
...an organization called ABC (I don't think it was the television network), and he used the term "terror fighters" at about 4:24 minutes into his speech.
From the transcript: "Tomorrow I'm going to go to Columbus, Ohio, to talk about the renewal of the Patriot Act, which is an important piece of legislation that on the one hand guarantees the civil liberties of the American people, but on the other hand, gives our terror fighters the same tools that we use to deal with drug lords or white collar criminals."

7. But that's NOT how he used it later. |
|
Does he use Terror Fighters to refer to both Terrorists and those that combat them? That's kind of messed up, not to mention disrespectful.

8. Okay, that's what he was saying! |
|
Terror fighters! He was slurring his words all over the place. Sounded like he was on day two of a 3-day drunk.
Terror fighters. That's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
