U.S. Daily Casualties 9/22/2003
As of Sunday, 304 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to U.S. Central Command.
The British military has reported 49 deaths. Denmark's military has reported one death.
On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 166 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to the latest Defense Department figures.
Since the start of military operations, 1,275 U.S. service members have been wounded as a result of hostile action, according to U.S. Central Command. Nonhostile injured numbered 319.
The latest deaths reported by U.S. Central Command:
Two soldiers from the 205th Military Intelligence Brigade were killed Saturday when mortars struck a U.S. base at the Abu Ghraib prison on the western outskirts of Baghdad.
A soldier from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment was killed Saturday when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee outside Ramadi, Iraq. No new identifications were reported by the military.

Wht the media does not get all over the Pentagon for making lite of our military men and women and their sacrifices is beyond me, but the decision that folks in a car(Hum-V) that gets blown up so that they lose body barts or life - were by definition folks that went over a mine (radio controled, on a timer, or set off via pressure is no matter)- and that going over a mine is by definition no big deal (see Ann Coulter's comment that they were paid - its their job - so what's to feel sorry for) is so harsh that I find the media's non-response evil.
