"President" bush; Drafting the Dead. |

"Perhaps all presidents' remarks in military graveyards are by nature self-serving. But few have been so callow as the president's using the deaths of U.S. troops in his unjustified war as justification for its continuance."http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/226504_bushiraqed.asp

SEATTLEPI.COM POLL
Is it time to begin the careful but quick withdrawal of American forces from Iraq?
Yes, the death toll for Americans and Iraqis alike continues to grow, with no obvious plan to defeat the insurgency. We've broken it and we can't fix it. 91.7%
No, we must stay the course or else the terrorists will have won. 8.3%
Total Votes: 2693

3. Intelligent people in Wa State...except for my in-laws. |
|
But even my in-laws have told my hubby I was right, they were wrong, and "will she ever forgive us?"
(Hubby replied, "I don't really think she will.")
Hubby knows me well.

8. No, although yes they did vote for bush. I won't ever forgive them |
|
because they put bush ahead of their own son's life.
NO ONE does that to my husband and remains on speaking terms with me.

7. Don't think it's a monopoly of intelligence here. |
|
Bush got a surprising show of support, even in the urban areas.
Greed and fear are powerful political forces everywhere when supported by ignorance. Counting the rural areas, we're just to the blue side of purple...

6. When they said they were going to lower their standards for recruiting |

When you have a personal interest in this war because you have a loved one there, you look at everything differently. I have always thought the war was wrong, but now my Son makes it personal for me..

9. My husband and nephew make it personal for me. |

Wars of choice are ALWAYS WRONG. And bush's war on Iraq was a war of choice; bush kicked the weapons inspectors out of Iraq 90 days before the inspectors could finish their work.
Our troops' lives weren't worth 90 days.
