Dean' statements weren't great, but the 'criticism' is getting to be worse |

To both Joes, Barack, John, and others: if you have a grievance with a major Democratic official's statement, especially one who needs to have an image of strong party support to do his job, air it PRIVATELY. Dean's generalizations are as fun for the media to pounce on and misinterpret as Gore's "lies" were in 2000, and they will do it at every opportunity. Part of the fault lies with Dean because these generalizations were pretty graceless and not very helpful, but by no means should Democratic leaders go out of their way to disagree PUBLICLY--if you're ambushed on MTP, you can say you disagree, but that's about all I think you should say.

2. Why are Democrats wimps? |
|
Because our representatives are. They just can't let Dean be Dean. For crying out loud the man is telling the truth. How hard does this need to be.

8. Yes, and Joe Lieberman should keep his mouth shut. I |

remember when he was one of the first people to criticize Clinton about Monica.

4. "I'd have to see his comments in context before I can comment" |
|
And or as you said "I disagree."
I think some egos are getting in the way. I admit I did not see an issue with John Edwards statements personally - but I don't like helping the media pile on. I think the Dems are being PLAYED bigtime by the media, and they seem none the wiser?
Wake up!

6. What wasn't great about Dean's statements? Sounded like truth to me. |
|
Then again, I thought the Dean Scream was a fantastic display of enthusiasm. I might be biased.

All this carping about Dean is really about the beltway Dems doing the bidding of their coprorate sponsors. It's time for the rest of us to create a new money trail...right to a Dean-led DNC.
Right now Dean is doing for the Dems what Gingrich did for the bad guys in the early 90s...and I mean that in a good way.

9. The media is responding to the establishment Dems. Not Dean. |
|
The pantywaist wing of the Dems are terrified that they might lose their grip on the party, so their fighting with the Repugs to silence the left.
As for Dean's statements, big deal. I'd like to see him or some other "leader" come out and say some things that will really stir the pot and rile the rightwing and their "moderate" allies.
Something like: "No more funding for the Occupation of Iraq".
