Fear of a Beige Planet: One in Seven in US is Hispanic
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/3217409

WASHINGTON - One of every seven people in the United States is Hispanic, a record number that probably will keep rising because of immigration and a birth rate outstripping non-Hispanic blacks and whites.

The country's largest minority group accounted for one-half of the overall population growth of 2.9 million between July 2003 and July 2004, according to a Census Bureau report being released today.

The agency estimated there are 41.3 million Hispanics in the United States. The bureau does not ask people about their legal status; that number is intended to include both legal and other residents.

5. One in seven is roughly 14%
or 14.286%, which is consistent with the last census report.

6. I'm not a biologist, but from what I have read, the
only way for one race to breed out another is from natural selection, or war and conquest.

We have gotten past the natural selection process, so genes will combine and recombine. You will always have white people, black people and everything else in-between even in the same family. It's seen in inter-racial families all the time today several generations down the road.

War and conquest kills off the losing side of a conflict either directly or through disease and starvation, so the conquerors will probably prevail genetically unless the conquerors were few and therefore their genes will co-mingle with the natives but the native's genes will prevail.

Culturally, now this is different. There are many good things in Latino culture that should be adopted by Anglos and many good things in Anglo culture that should be adopted by Latinos. The negatives should be discarded. Win, win for all sides, in my mind.
