Poll question: Who is the bigger threat to the Democratic Party?
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 04:10 PM by Behind the Aegis
There have been many attacks on Democrats as of recent. So, I started thinking about the "attackers." Who is really our biggest threat?

on edit: please give a few kicks now and again. :)

8. And would they count if they're not actually IN the party?
The Ultra Left to me is the sort of person who only just barely found Dennis Kucinich a tolerable candidate and who thinks the rest of the Dem Party is no different than the Republicans. When you're standing that far to the left, everything looks like a Republican.

Publications like CounterPunch give me that feeling.

Lefty Freepers is another description. Detached from reality is never good, on the left or the right.

11. As a subscriber to The Nation
and a reader of CounterPunch I think characterizing the site as a 'creepy site' is off the mark.
Alexander Cockburn has made more than a few good points about the terrorism that the US has fomented around the world

13. It is my opinion...
...and I am sticking to it! I am not saying EVREYTHING there is useless, but I don't like the tone of many of the articles. And, to me, it is creepy.

15. Are you serious?
Are there really people like that on the left? Maybe I am naive (at 36, I wouldn't think so, but...)? Are there really people that would vote for that POS just to punish all of us?! I just find that flabbergasting. Or were you just joshing?

16. I'm being perfectly serious.
Not a lot of them, and they are way more disorganized than Dems or even Greens. I live in an urban area on the left coast, where people leaflet Kucinich rallies with flyers explaining how his campaign is a dirty trick to subvert real revolutionaries by getting them to join the corrupt Dems.

And the urge is not so much punishment as it is "it really will be better for us in the long run to suffer now instead of suffer even more later."

18. Shocked!
Thank you for your response. I am just...my mouth is hanging open...how could anyone think they are progressive and justify group suffering?

Well, the adage is true..."you learn something new everyday!" I just wish this wasn't something I had to learn. But, I am thankful that someone took the time to teach me.

Without them pushing the republicans into power and the democrats totally off any actual populism the Democratic party might actually be democratic.
