Montana asks for it's national guard to come home.
They were told no. Govenor wanted them home for fire season. The have nine Blackhawk helicopters for firefighting duty, eight of them are in Iraq. This was just on Lou Dobbs.

1. So sad!
This Country could go to hell in a hand basket and bush would keep mumbling about "freedom is on the march".

3. We'll fight the fires in Iraq so we won't have to fight the fires at home.
How many trees are in Iraq?

5. At least Montana has a governor with the guts to ask!
In much of the West, that's what the NG has been used for for decades. Fire control, disaster response, stuff like that.

One BlackHawk in a state the size of Montana?

8. And Glacier is poised to go up in a major fire.
Of course that's what they were saying 12 years ago, so take it with a grain of salt.

I thought the National Guard was for protection of the citizens in this country, but apparently I thought wrong.

9. The "puzzle" is actually a talisman that brings you good fortune.
The quote is a quote from Calvin and Hobbes.

19. I once drove to Mexico from here.
Went straight south, the Dakotas,Nebraska,Kansas,Oklahoma and Texas. It was pretty much the same til I hit the desert about 2/3 of the way through Texas. Crossed the border at Laredo/Neuvo Laredo.

12. Please, tell me more about the image in your post-
Not that I don't apreciate the subject, but I am
EXTREMELY curious about the source and origins
of the graphic-
It looks like something I dreamed about fifteen years ago...
More information please!

15. Thanks!
I will have a look at the site-
Lately, and perhaps you will know what I
am referring to, the line between dream time
and waking time is blurring and merging.
So very interesting to stumble across this
image from a dream I had, YEARS ago.
THANKS!
Off to investigate further-

17. That's what I love about Schweitzer
Most Governors in a state as red as Montana wouldn't have the balls to do that. Schweitzer doesn't give a shit. The manpower and the equipment that he needs to be doing things at home are stuck in a stupid military quagmire overseas and he isn't afraid to speak up about it.

22. That's what he was saying "We're unguarded"
The Montana guardsmen know Montana, know how to fight fires there. If they send guardsmen from Indiana or elsewhere,he won't know their training, or experience.
