The US marked #1 for mental illness? |
|
Does anybody have an article about this? Malloy is talking about it on his show and I'm not very surprised. Especially all Bush and his croonies have done to us since 9/11. I think a lot of the country is still in PTSD since then even if you weren't directly involved in the event (family etc). I'm not very surprised. No wonder politicians cater to the drug companies with health care. *sigh*

5. As more and more states shutter facilities more & more of MH patients |
|
just get dumped on the streets or in situations where they receive no treatment. The trend to close the old centers or hospitals has actually done these folks a grave injustice. Most have no where to go, no one to make sure they take their medications and no place to go when they become overwhelmed with daily life. I am not an advocate of the old days of warehousing, but there is something to be said for the concept. It was a unified approach to treatment & care, that today just does not exist. A lot more people today just slip through the cracks because they just can't afford the drugs, treatment or housing. These are the ones we end up reading about in police blotters and other print media, usually after some violent outburst. The dismantling of mental health facilities has shifted the burden of care to local governments, who have limited resources & ability to provide care.

It is setting us all up for the Evil Ones to start testing all school children and recommending drugs be given the poor little mentally ill children. Then they plan to start testing every adult in the country. I read about this plan many months ago. It will keep us quiet and funnel fortunes to the pharmacutical companies. ABC had a segment about it the other night. I thought as the time , here it comes. They will test and prescribe, according to the article I read. And it will be mandatory.
