Fellow Deanieboppers, we need to lighten up! |
|
I'm a strong Dean supporter, but lately I've really been disturbed by the hypersensitivity of some Deanies. Any thread at all involving Dean will often quickly turn into a flame fest, with some Deanies getting self-righteously angry over any Dean post that's the slightest bit negative, or that isn't negative at all but is taken as such.
Folks, we need to LIGHTEN UP! People are starting to get really tired of the hypersensitivity where Dean is concerned, and they're getting angry as well. Is this the way to bring supporters to Dean? Like it or not, Dean, like every political candidate that has ever existed and will ever exist, does have his flaws and problems. The way to handle that is to admit it, and then CALMLY explain the circumstances behind the flaws and problems and answer questions honestly and CALMLY! We need to be able to do this, anyway, because, as the primaries get closer and closer, people who don't know much about Dean are going to be asking questions and we're going to have to be able to explain why we support Dean and to defend our choice.
We won't be able to do that if we get angry and whip ourselves into a fit of righteous indignation whenever we hear something we don't like about him, or the slightest negativity about him. So please, Deanieboppers, think about that and let's lighten up a little!

We could also ignore posts that are meant to be flames.

2. THANK YOU!!! From one Dean supporter to another. |
|
My feelings exactly, and what you described almost turned me off of Dean. As I've detailed on here time and again, it was a tough road coming to him as my candidate, but I'm here and I don't want anything to turn me away. And if people don't realize that their attitudes and tactics are turning people away from a great candidate then it makes me very angry.

4. hmmm...it's very possible |
|
that might be the very reason that some of them do that...to turn off potential supporters...probably the best to do would be to not feed the trolls...consider them disrupters

5. Do not call me a Deaniebopper. |
|
Now is that touchy enough for you? I am not a bopper at all. I am a mature retired teacher who has enough brains to realize when we are being jerked around.

I love Dean, he is my #2 choice, but I am still astonished that few if any people here are willing to admit that it's better to cut the military budget to fund domestic programs, than to keep the military budget the same. And that's coming from someone who understands Dean's position and feels it's realistic given the Thug Congress. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=373083DTH

14. This is probably because |
|
I believe the Dean supporters and the Clark supporters have both endured a massive amount of abuse, sadly sometimes at the hands of each other.
I swear, sometimes this family is so dysfuntional it makes the Jerry Springer show look like Leave it to Beaver.

13. Thank you - from a Clark supporter. We'll all vote for the nominee |
|
eventually - and it would be a shame if the animosity we create now will make that more difficult. When I see Limpballs, Nofacts become Dean partisans these days I feel like calling to you guys: "see the plot? They are driving a wedge! don't fall for it!" Let's just all work for our own candidate and keep in mind that we ultimately want the same thing and we'll vote for the same guy to get it.
