What's great about Harry Reid's apology to Junior
is that it says a lot about Harry as a person.

Calling someone a "loser" is a cheap shot. It's emotional and it's impossible to substantiate (calling Bush a "winner" would be more accurate, seeing as he did, by most accounts, win the election). The apology was appropriate. But Reid will never apologize for calling him a liar, because it's a fact.

Harry was strong enough to admit he made a mistake, but also strong enough to not back down from a powerful statement when it's the damn truth.

I campaigned for Harry last fall, and though he won by a landslide, I feel pretty good about helping him get back in the Senate. When I was canvassing in Las Vegas one old lady came to the door and said, "Harry Reid? I think we need some new blood...Harry's like an old dishcloth." I said, "Well if it still cleans the dishes..."(she laughed).

I met him once. He's not a big man, but radiates calm and inner strength. He's a Mormon, and I don't agree with him on some issues (like choice). But in many ways he's like that other famous Harry, the one who said, "The responsibility of the great states is to serve, and not dominate, the peoples of the world." I could hear that coming out of Reid's mouth. I could see him as our next president.

In the meantime, Harry...GIVE 'EM HELL!

1. I thought I had read this...
He called him a "loser" and a "liar"...
and apologized for "loser"...

Is that correct? Nice, if so!

4. I'm glad he held his ground on the Iiar part
A case could be made for dubby the loser as well, but we'll let that one go for now.
Like Dean said, the bushies are just looking for a diversion. The adults have work to do.
