Don't you think it telling that the "smartest state" is Mass - which is also considered one of the most progressive?? LOL

The smartest state for the 2nd year is Massachusetts.

The dumbest - for the 3rd year - is New Mexico.

This was a survey by Morgan Quitno Press of public school systems resulting in the Education State Rankings. States were graded on how they compare to the national average, including: per-pupil expenditures, graduation rates, class size, reading/math proficiency, and student-teacher ratio. It also included drop-out rates and physical violence.
