We seem to have a lot of people that have forgotten their history and what happened to the French Revolution as it devolved into Robespierre and his Reign of Terror. We decapitate our Dantons, and one day we look around and someone will be ready to decapitate us.

Just remember, the French Revolution ultimately failed when an emperor-to-be, under the guise of restoring order to the mess, took over.

If people are so disgruntled with Dr. Dean's rhetoric or anything else about being a Democrat, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Think it's "evil" to call Repugican the party of White Christians? The door's to the right...see ya!

If you think it's "terrible" that Repugnicans represent the rich and many of these people, including their manchild, George Cukoobrains Bunnypants, never worked an honest day in his life...it was nice knowin' ya. Been a slice.

Also, if you think that every Democrat has to be a Democrat the way you want them to be...if they vote on one bill you don't agree with and condemn them as being "sell-outs" (many times without looking closer at the situation) or interviewing Repugnicans and not kicking them in their non-existant sexual locations...it's been a great time knowing you as well. Sorry we couldn't be worthy.

I'm glad these issues are coming to the surface, and as Plaid Adder aptly has noted, there are now questions being bantered about the media that best we sit back and let them toy with. They're questions Repugnicans are, or should be asking about themselves...they're just pissed we're asking.

I'm one that doesn't get into those games. In fact I appreciate seeing those who have criticisms...as long as they're substansive and not based on personal biases and other sideshows that have no bearing on politics...the cause celebre here (if some don't remember).

As far as Dean or Kerry or anyone, those who know me know I'm as neutral in these matters as they come. My focus has and still is very local as I strongly believe the main focus should be party building and getting Democrats elected. The post mortems of 2004 and the pre game shows for 2008 interest me little.

My point is there has been a lot of criticism of Dr. Dean's statements based on how people's candidates or favorites line up. I also believe that's the gist of this OP as well. How things here turn so angry so quick when someone doesn't quite fit someone's views. And it appears, this case has been proven.

I'm active on several "liberal" forums and I have to say that when DU is at it's best it's far superior...but it does seem to have this periodic habit of devolving into utter zealotry and rabid, incoherent extremism that becomes every bit as disturbing as what we see on that other site/side.

Goes to show, I suppose, that if you push the political circle far enough (in both directions), eventually the mindless, angry mob coalesces at a similar point.

And not to call anyone out, but I fail to see where this place is such a bastion of Dem bashing.
It is alright to discuss Dean or Kerry's foibles and missteps, just as we can cheer them on when they hit one out of the park.
No statement is ever perfect and no poster is always right.
Cut us a little slack here, we're changing the world one step at a time.
